Velliangiri – The Kailash of South
SEVEN sacred hills ranging in western ghats of nilgrii biosphere
with an altitude from 520-1840 meter bordered by Tamilnadu
and Kerala in southern India is considered as a reside of Lord
Shiva which is above 6000ft from sea level. It is believed that
shiva needed a place to sit and work out his despondency, so he
climbed the mountain and sit in the top of it for a long,
wherever shiva stepped and spent little bit of time, people call
it as Kailash, So this is called as south of Kailash (Sadhguru
2016).

want to put their footprint on once should visit this pilgrimage.
Maha shivratri is celebrated with much zeal and faith here,
Where the lord Shiva himself performed a cosmic dance
requested by his consort.
To hike 6000+ steps and rocks you will be supported by bamboo
sticks by vendors at the foothills and all these energies are
enshrined to see divinity and grace of mother nature.
Perpendicular
Bamboo would be janitor for thousand + 90degree steps. People
may think it as a wild goose chase but hikers love this and any
sloppy act will lead adversity,ultimately boozehound trekkers
will suffer. People have been in sweat buckets and may feel
polydipsia too but the scotch mist & humming birds echo would
make everyone feel like paradise. Igneous may harm people feet
but breeze of wind will make their body refresh.
Bamboo forest
Igneous hurt makes its own full stop and perennial ryegrass
medicate people feet with fog water dispersed over it. Ten
degree is added extra by mountain for the hikers to climb the
last part of this forest. After hour of assiduous travel at 90degree trekking will make people to drain. But Nature present
us utterly pristine (Sunai)freshwater with added medical values
from water towers. The moving clouds and green odor make
people to feel like a saint.
Hola Coimbatore
Plain greenish surface will be spotted for half a mile in our
naked eye. Entire city of Coimbatore and beauty of kongu nadu
are goanna be an eye full.
Chirping of birds, buzzing of beetle and hoot of owl will be feast
for people ears who hardly wants to get rid of machinery life
sound and it spreads cool hush in human soul. Squirrel bitted
mountain gooseberries are shattered copiously under the trees
for foodies.
Ample freshwater bodies and fugitive birds make people to
think themselves like Narcissistic. People walk follow one’s nose
and some speaks chin music and turkey speech for escaping
from mental fatigue. Magnet rays from mountain will attract
the pikey to climb more. Siruvani dam and its water source are
abrupt visit for the trekkers and its full picture will be clearly
visible in 6th peak.
Ash hill
Ash dispersed sandy rocks takes us near to the last peak.
Moving clouds are steps nearer to catch it and the mist flows
around you. Unique Mesmerizing voice from yogi and damaru
sound flashes the way of divine living. Another freshwater
stream flows and people are advised to have a bath before
hiking the last peak. Water’s freezing cold will make people to
relax and release their internal tiredness.
Strenuous Hiking
Sixth hill is said to be most boorish hiking. But wedlock with
bamboo stick will act as a shoulder for trekkers. It’s a belief
that sound of “Om” would be echoed after dusk in this peek.
People will tranquil in some spots in this peak while seeing
moving clouds and view of siruvani dam makes them tantrum
stop. But the view of mother nature in this peak makes people
to be befuddled from the external life. sixth hill is said to
climbed and descended to get into last hill. this mountaineering
or alpinism is so adventurous in this Velliangiri because people
are hiking this mountain only with the help of bamboo sticks in
this travel. Igneous & space scarcity makes people to walk like
colony ants. They don’t break rank for more than 500 meters
while descending if they do it may lead to unambiguous dire for
them.
Suyambu Lingam (self-manifested Sculp)
The space scarcity gets its loose and a full-fledged plain land
surface image gets our eyes. Prayers and bells from temple
vibrate and echoes in that 6000 altitude from sea level. more
than six hours of travel and six km of mountain trekking has
come to an end for hikers in this peak.
Positive forces and vibes will spark to every individual apart
from being tired in that peak. Rishi and Muni’s are seen in caves
located in nook and corners in temple. "Breath Vapor" or "Steam
“will be coming out from people mouth at that altitude. Conch
sound will be heard all over from that temple as rishi’s blowing
it. A Suyambu Linga is situated in the cave and people are
worshiping it with flowers and ashes. A sweet Prasad of
drenched rice + brown sugar and roasted bengal gram are given
to people in temple. The Kailash of the South and of the
reverberance that these peaks have absorbed from the
innumerable sages and seers including the Adiyogi himself, who

Temple atop the Velliangiri Hills called Rajathagiri or Bhoolok
Kailash. Legend says that this is the place where Lord Shiva
performed his cosmic dance of ‘Tandawa’ to request of his
consort (Yatra 2016). People after this tedious trekking
started to descend the six peaks like dawdling. The path
remains the same and the pain remains the same for
travelers while descending. But that’s the only way to reach
down. Bamboo sticks and people will be like a twilight story
as its good janitor to people for more than eight hours.
