BIBL 105
DISCUSSION BOARD FORUM INSTRUCTIONS
In the Discussion Board Forums, you will examine 4 Old Testament heroes based on the
readings from Courageous Faith: Life Lessons from Old Testament Heroes and compare the
heroes with yourself. In each corresponding forum, you will write a thread of at least 250 words.
You must then write replies to at least 3 other classmates by participating in discussion,
providing additional insights, and interacting with the contents of the classmates’ threads. Each
reply must be at least 150 words.
Thread: In each forum, you will submit a thread of at least 250 words that fully answers the
forum’s prompt. The content of your thread must reflect insightful analysis of the biblical text as
well as reflect your own life. The thread must demonstrate proper grammar, syntax, and spelling
as well as be clear and accurate. You must make reference to the chapter in Courageous Faith by
either summary or direct quotation. Refer to the "Course Policies" in the course syllabus for the
formatting expectations in this course. Include a reference list at the end of the thread, but do not
include the Bible in the list.
Replies: You will post at least 3 replies to your classmates’ threads of at least 150 words each. In
your replies, respond to students who chose a different Bible hero than you. It may help to
identify with that Bible hero in your own life. How does their point of view change how you
originally responded? How are you similar or different to the Bible hero they chose? The
purpose of these replies is for you to engage in discussion and to interact with classmates
concerning their insights from Courageous Faith. It is advantageous to submit your replies
before the very end of the module/week so that those who desire to reply and engage in
discussion may do so. Remember that the extent and quality of your discussion will factor into
your grade for each forum. As with the thread, make sure your replies reflect quality writing.
For each forum, submit your thread by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned
module/week and your 3 replies by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the same module/week.
