Name _______________________________ Day _______ Hour _______ In this project you will use Adobe Photoshop CS6 editing and photo-manipulation skills to make a weird hybrid (combination, that is) ANIMAL. You will juxtapose (put together for contrasting–often unusual–effect) different parts of various animals, using the program’s many refinements and capabilities to make a seamless creation that looks real! PLANNING / THOUGHTFULLY DEVELOPING IDEAS Completion of the project requires the following basic elements: • Begin with one of the three provided images (wiener dog, giraffe, or lion) • Add a head from a different source; can be a[nother] animal or a person • Add on body parts from three additional image files (all different); for example, you might use two front feet from a photo of a koala bear (additional image source ONE), a tail from a whale photo (additional image source TWO), and hind legs from a zebra (additional image source THREE). About photo images you use: • No political figures or inappropriate personalities (i.e. nasty historical figures, criminals, etc.) • No selfies, photos of friends, family members, etc. • Good quality photos, please; avoid images that are blurry or over/under-exposed • School appropriate, please. Be nice. (Teacher reserves the right to ask student to remove unsuitable referential material.) Use the illustrations above to help you develop ideas. Make a ROUGH SKETCH of the animal that you chose to start your “NEWIMAL” project (lion, dachshund, giraffe). Brainstorm ideas for parts that you might add, listing the image files you’ll need to search for next class period. DRAW the parts onto your beginning sketch to show what you finished NEWIMAL might look like. Label the parts. I started with the __________________ . I added a head from __________________ . Other parts came from: ❶ _________________ ❷ _________________ ❸ _________________ _________________ You may also work on the back if you want to sketch more ideas. (You can include more if you wish.)
