MLA Format for Annotated Bibliographies For an annotated bibliography, use standard MLA format for the citations, then add a brief abstract for each entry: - 3-4 sentences to summarize the main idea(s) of the source. 2-3 sentences to relate the source to your thesis and evaluate the source Do not make personal references (I, me, my) in your annotation.
