This syllabus may be subject to change. Unit Purpose Content Unit 1: Let me teach you something You learn a technique to help with VITAL your pronunciation skills that I teach all my private students. It will help you learn and practise ANY sound and word in English so you can become 100% independent in your learning. Learn how to pronounce any sound or word in English by using the technique I show you. Unit 2: Let's master the voiced "th" sound /ð/ Help people understand you better and learn how to pronounce the voiced and voiceless “th” sounds with ease. Explanation videos, plus word and sentence practice videos so you can mimic and start applying the technique from unit 1. Unit 4: How do I know when the "th" is voiced or voiceless? Have you ever wondered “how do I know when the “th” is voiced or voiceless?”. Well, this unit will help you with that! Three simple rules and videos to help you know when to use a voiced or a voiceless “th” sound. Unit 5: I can't say "clothes" and “months"! Are the words clothes, months, breaths, fifths, and linking words like “that this…” and “did they…” difficult for you and get in the way of your fluency when you speak? This unit will help solve this. Detailed videos with seven difficult sound combinations. Unit 6: How do I know when the "th" is a /t/? Sometimes the spelling “th” is pronounced as a /t/. But when? I’ll show you with this easy rule! A video and one easy rule detailing how to tell if the “th” spelling is a /t/ or not. Unit 7: A tiny detail that can seriously help with being understood We look at how vowel length is affected by the “th” sounds and how people can potentially misunderstand you if you don’t get the vowel length just right. A video and explanation detailing how the vowel is affected depending on whether you’re using the voiced or voiceless “th” sound in the word. Unit 3: Let's master the voiceless "th" sound /θ/ (I also haven’t found a single pronunciation book or YouTube video which covers this topic! So this will be something new for many people). Unit 8: How natives and nonnatives typically pronounce the “th” Natives and non-natives sometimes say the “th” sounds in different ways, so to make sure you understand other people who do not (or maybe cannot) pronounce the sounds /ð/ and /θ/, this unit will show you the ways which people pronounce these sounds. Videos and explanations of the comparisons between words which have /ð/ and /θ/, and the ways that natives and non-natives sometimes say these sounds. Units 9+: Six “practice packs” will be added each week from the date the course is launched A new pack of words and sentences will be released every week from the date the course is released so you receive MORE practice. By continuously practising a little bit for many weeks, the pronunciation of the “th” sounds will stick much better! At least six additional packs containing videos with words and sentences to practise the “th” sounds further. The packs will also include any requests which members have made, so long as the requests are related to the “th” sounds.
