Also, it generates the salary Sheet of the employees of the company that assists the accounts department in many ways. Payroll is an Application which is used to maintain the Employee details of the company or concern in different places. Payroll scope every employee of a company who receives a regular wage or other compensation. It is the sum of all financial records of salaries for an employee, wages, bonuses, and deductions. Some employees may be paid a steady salary while others are paid for hours worked. All of these different payment methods are calculated by a payroll system. Payroll system has been designed to remove the time and effort that is normally associated with payroll and to provide a direct and seamless operation that enables the employer or client to handle all staff and payment processes in a simple and accurate manner. Payroll management system allows the organization to generate pay slips and salary register, based on the attendance of the employees, overtime, allowances, bonus, and other standard deductions. Statement of the problem Before the advent of various payroll management systems in various companies and organizations, payroll was a difficult task because it was manually computed by some individuals. Manual systems of payroll always put pressure on people to be correct in all aspects of their work. With manual systems, the level of service is dependent on individuals and this puts a requirement on management to run training continuously for staff to keep them motivated and to ensure they are following the correct procedures. Other problems caused by the manual payroll system are: Inconsistency in data entry, room for errors, mistaking the information. System is dependent on good individuals. Time-consuming and costly to produce reports. 1 The use of paper to keep pay details about each employee which results in too much paper work. Lack of security of data. Current state of the technology In the late 19s, all payrolls used to be calculated manually, without any help from a computer. Owners of the company invested a lot of time and energy into keeping track of all employee data, files, and information, calculating monthly salaries, hourly, bonuses, taxes, deductions, and so on. And they did this all by keeping numerous files filled with track records for each and every person employed. Nowadays, however, things are far simpler than they used to be. Because technology is always dedicated to making things easier and better, quite a wide variety of computerized payroll systems is available to save us from this difficult task. Now, instead of keeping bunch of files and spending endless hours calculating, all you have to do is get a payroll software system and let it do all the nasty work. Objectives This system aims to develop more accurate program and is made for the following purpose: General Objective The main objective of the Payroll Management System is to manage the details of Employees, Payments, and Salary. It also manages all information about the Employee, Payroll and Salary Slips. Payroll efficiency saves time and money, ensures that paychecks go out on time with the correct amount of each. The Limitation of this system is it will only be used for payroll transactions by a certain company y or organization. It will not be employed in any other small company incapable of producing many employees. And also it does not support network implementation or online transaction. Summary In this chapter the various features of the payroll system are mentioned the scope problem and possible solution that can be passed. 3
