After seeing the composition of the population in Lebanon 2016, analyse what might happen with:
1. It’s economy [5 points]
Answer here: 5
It’s economy will be worse as there will be less replacements for the economically active
group and there will be more elderly people that needs support by the economically
active people, correspondingly making the economy worse.
2. A possible program the government implement based on Lebanon 2016 and why. [10 points]
Answer here: 10
Implement a program where we could enable physically/mentally disabled
children/adults to properly work at certain job sections which will help the economically
active people that will need to support the elderly.
Or
Implement a program that provides access to cheaper education and tax costs (like
Kartu Jakarta Pintar). In this way, a lot more children will have access to better facilities
and education standards to begin with and will empower the children more in the future
and making them healthier as well a higher chance of surviving and a longer life

Because in Indonesia, there are a lot of job sections
that do not require a significant amount of knowledge
and experience and has higher amount of toleration for
lower-levels of education. For example a waitress at a
waroeng/rumah makan padang/angkringan/fast food
restaurants, cleaning service/housekeeper, construction
worker, factory worker, taxi driver, Go-Jek/Uber/Grab
driver, penambal ban, orang bengkel, etc.

There are very few jobs that require higher-levels of
education. This is mainly because Indonesia doesn’t
have the facilities, infrastructure, or technology to
provide more sophisticated jobs. For example: Doctor,

chemist, IT, university teacher, etc.
1. Tdk/Blm sekolah: This group has the 3rd lowest
employment rate on the graph. This is due to
many people in this group are not literate and
barely masters any most basic topics at many
subjects. However, there are jobs that will still
allow them to work, for example farmer,
fishermen, public transportation driver, etc.
2. Tdk/Blm tamat SD: These people have
comparable employment rates to those who are
is SLTP and SLTA. This is caused by the fact
that they already know mostly the basics of
various subjects but does not have the ability to
solve something harder with their current level
of knowledge. However, these people are
known to be hired as penambal ban, orang
bengkel, servis AC, Go-Jek/Uber/Grab, taxi
driver, waitress at various restaurants, security,
the military, truck driver, etc.
3. Universitas: These people obtain the highest
levels of education in Indonesia, specializing at
a certain subject and being really good at it.
However, these experience and knowledge
cannot be put into use if there are no suitable
field jobs to use them. In Indonesia, technology
is still limited and facilities for higher-educated
people are still very few, making them to not be
employed in large numbers.
The more average your education/the less specialized
you are, the higher chance of being hired for a job. In
Indonesia, there are lots of spaces for people who did
not pass/passed Primary to have a job, mainly because
they are still young and healthy and they still have
potential to use on a certain profession. They tend to
end in Primary because of the lack of education in
Indonesia. The vast majority of Indonesia does not have
any significant school or facilities to begin with, and
poverty of the family will be another factor for this
problem. The main point of the trend is when you are at
the middle-level (average education), it will already be
enough for most jobs, and the fact that you are still
young will convince the ones who hire you more.
