You will plan and draw the street map for a fictional city according to the directions listed
below. This project will be graded by a rubric. FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY!
1. Appearance
● The project must be done on the paper provided.
● It must be drawn neatly and in color.
● Neatly print your name in the lower right corner of the front of the project.
● You may add detail as long as it does not interfere with the requirements or the
appearance of the city.
● Your project must be unique to you.
2. City and Streets
● At the top of the drawing, place the name of the city and give it a population number.
● Draw 6 parallel streets.
● Draw 2 transversal streets that are not parallel to each other and do not intersect.
● Name all streets.
● Draw traffic lights or stop signs at 4 intersections.
3. Buildings
● Your street map must include the following buildings:
gas station
house
fire department
restaurant
courthouse
department store bank
place of worship
police station
school
● Appropriate building names must be placed on “signs” on or near the buildings
(ex: NMS Savings Bank).
● On the table that is provided on the rubric page identify the required buildings
placements as corresponding angles (2 pairs of buildings), alternate exterior angles (1
pair of buildings), alternate interior angles (1 pair), and consecutive interior angles (1
