What Is Visa Temporary Graduate Visa Subclass 485?
Temporary graduate visa subclass 485 is a work visa for an international student who has pursued
at least two years of study or bachelor's degree from any CRICOS registered Australian institute
and looking forward to continuing their further education then you need to apply for Graduate Visa
485. This visa subclass 485 allows you to stay for an 18th month for further studies. Temporary
Graduate Visa Subclass 485 is a temporary visa that allows you to be employed in Australia for
18th months. Visa 485 also give a permit to international students to bring their parents to stay with
them in Australia. You can stay for 2 to 4 years in the post-study work stream by applying for
subclass 485.
There are two streams in existence:1. Graduate workstream
2. Post-study workstream
Common eligibility criteria for both stream
Visa will be processed if you are the main student visa subclass holder but if you supported by
foreign affairs or defense ministry then you are not able to apply for visa subclass 485.
If you had granted for this temporary graduate visa 485 in past history then you will not be
granted for this visa subclass 485 again.
You can apply for subclass 485 if you held a student visa subclass 500 within the last six
months just before your application process and now you have any bridging visa at the time of
applying for a 485 visa.
Your education must be completed from an English medium institute.
You need to nominate an occupation that is closely related to your education field.
Your English exam score must be a minimum of 5 for each of the 4 parts. And overall score.
Overseas student health cover is only applicable for student visa subclass 500 holders but if
you are no longer with student visa 500 then you must apply for another health cover at the time
of applying for subclass 485.
You must be under 50 years of age.
Complete Documentation Process
Submit your identity documents including personal identities and marriage certificates if you
are married.
Collect your documents related to the name change if you have changed your name.
You don’t need to submit an English proficiency test score if you are from the UK, Canada,
New Zealand, US, The Republic of Ireland.
Provide Skill assessment documents for the graduate workstream.
You Should submit a health and character certificate for visa 485.
Put your completion letter from your education institute including the CRICOS code of your
education provider.
Provide dependent under 18 and dependent above 18 documents.
provide a certified copy of the course transcript.
Submit health documents including a signed letter from your insurance provider.
Provide proof of enrollment with medicare.

1. You can live, study, and work in Australia for 18th months into 4 years according to your
visa stream.
2. You can bring your dependent family members to Australia on a 485 visa.
