Culminating Assignment
Name:______________________
A Global Perspective of the Ancient World
Your task is to investigate the characteristics, contributions, influences, impact and
legacies of a civilization which we have not studied in detail already in class. You
will research your chosen civilization, and prepare a presentation that describes its
characteristics. You will present your information to the class (10 minutes). The
information that you provide will be the only information that your classmates will
learn about your civilization. They will take notes and information from the
presentations will be covered on the final exam. You will also write a 5 paragraph
essay with a thesis that proves how the characteristics of the civilization contribute
to their being defined as a civilization. This must be accompanied with a
bibliography citing all the sources of information used.
The culminating project is worth 15% of the course mark:

human settlement be considered a civilization?

Write your essay. 5 paragraphs:

Each paragraph will refer back to the criteria that you

developing your criteria.
