This thesis entitled, “RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARENTING STYLES AND
SOCIABILITY STUDENTS” was conducted to determine the relationship between
parenting styles and the sociability of senior high school students in Saint Jerome
Integrated School of Cabuyao in the academic year 2019-2020. The
respondents of this study are given researcher-made survey questionnaires to
assess the parenting styles (assessed by the students) and their sociability
(assessed both by themselves and their parents).
After analyzing the data, the researchers found out that the level of
manifestation of parenting styles are: 3.33 in authoritarian parenting style, which
is interpreted as “High”; 2.44 in authoritarian parenting style, which is interpreted
as “Moderately High”; and 2.82 in permissive parenting style, which is interpreted
as “High”. Furthermore, the level of manifestation of sociability in terms of
confidence is 3.20, which is interpreted as “High”; in terms of approachability, it
has a mean of 3.14, which is interpreted as “High”; and in terms of friendliness, it
has a mean of 3.19, which is interpreted as “High”. In addition to that, the
researchers have found out that there is no significant difference between
sociability of students (as assessed by the parents and themselves). Lastly, the
researchers found out that there is a significant relationship between parenting
styles and the sociability of students.
According to the data that was analyzed, it was concluded that there is a
significant relationship between parenting styles and the sociability of students.
Most of the students’ parents manifested authoritative as their parenting style. It
