Traditionally, Globalization is treated just a simple issue concerning economic
aspect of various countries. Today, individuals have defined it more precisely and
accurately. Through proper education and circulated news, people now have come to
understand globalization as passage of goods, movement of services through certain
mediums, and fast exchange of ideas. Moreover, globalization is now understood not
merely a topic relating to economy, but rather is connected to different facets of
contemporary life such as political and culture.
Certainly, international movie is one of the salient outputs of globalization that
dominate the world of Information and Communication Technology. Beyond doubt,
these international movies have surely influenced and imparted learning concerning
economy, politics, and culture. In connection to economy particularly to
financescapes, movies allow hassle-free process of binge-watching movies and series
though downloading streaming applications which require subscription fee, visiting
cinemas to watch latest Hollywood movies likewise require payment-- these evidently
prove the flow of capital and revenue globally through entertainment media. In
technoscapes, movies let viewers conceive and grasp stories, whether they are of
reality or imagination. Obviously, to make movies closer to perfection, it requires
advance technologies such as high caliber shooting cameras, editing tools, quality
lighting devices and the like.
In connection to politics specially on ideoscapes, movies are never made out of
nothing, they have always want to bestow upon their viewers lessons and realizations.
Evidently, in every movie we watch, flow of ideas are appreciated. Directors use
symbols to highlight points and artists showcase emotions to creatively uphold their
character. Lastly, cultural aspect such as ethnoscapes and mediascapes has always
play significant part in successfully rendering a story. Through these, one does not
have to wander abroad just to taste different culture because international movies let
us feel other races’ ethnography. But if one is not appeased through visual serving,
movies also entice viewers to come to their land and enjoy their real atmosphere.
Same scenario happens to avid supporters of k-drama actors, some are willing to risk
money and safety just to experience their idols’ place of shooting.
Undeniably, globalization cannot be denied for it is apparently noticeable in
every aspect of contemporary life. There is visible steady growth in every country
which has lifted millions of people out of severe poverty and confined mentality.
