and identify credible sources that you can use for academic purposes. Assuming you’re a
Physician intern, you are required to identify and select only ONE of the articles provided
below that will best answer your research question which is: “Promoting, maintaining, or

Section B (Essay)

Contentious topics are the ones that are likely to cause an argument or a debate. These are
topics were valid argumentative points are raised and advantages and disadvantages are
singled out. Different people can have different views about it; thus, some may tend to
express their support for the topic while some may not support the ideas or views.
Using any of the provided categories of topics below, pick one and derive a much suitable
contentious topic and write an essay of not less than 450 words and of not more than two (2)
pages, contrasting different views or advantages or disadvantages of the chosen topic.
You are encouraged to simplify the topics provided to best produce a suitable topic, an
example of a contentious topic can be " Can death penalty be legalized in Namibia".

Your essay should be structured as follows:
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Write an essay about a current contentious topic in Namibia (Pick from the scope of
topics provided only).
a) Clearly outline the major sides of each argument.
b) The sources of each of your argument should not be older than 5 years.
c) Present your own evaluation and conclusion based on the arguments presented.
d) Use Mendeley software for your references and paraphrasing. APA referencing style
as described in the ICT course material to be used.
e) Use Turnitin, the academic plagiarism checker against your essay to detect plagiarism.
f) The essay should be 1-2 pages, font type: Times New Roman, font size: 12, justified
and 1.15-line spacing.
g) Upload your work to the e-learning platform.
Hints:

Your essay should have an introduction, body where viewpoints are presented,
evaluation and conclusion.

Represent the different viewpoints as objectively as possible, without bias.

Reference all the work / materials that you gained from all sources, use APA style.

Conclusion and evaluation should be your own, don't copy it from anywhere.

Plagiarized work will not be marked and zero mark will be given.
