Grand theft Auto San Andreas and issues targeting children Grand theft Auto San Andreas is a Criminal craze video game. In this game, Gamers join games shoot cops and attack women. The game can be purchased for $50, and 50 Million copies are expected to sell. It has become a bestselling video game ever. This game is teaching children that violence is a good way of solving the problem. It makes children start thinking negatively. The problem is related to Children who could buy the game from best buy/stores at the age less than 17, and no questions were asked to them during checkout. These games are processed differently in Adolescents and teens. It is processed in a part of the brain where copycatting is likely to occur. However, adults process it in the forebrain, who cam differentiate between reality and fantasy. It is a significant problem as this kind of behavior is not suitable for the community. It introduces violence in the children and makes them think that this is the only solution by beating/shooting people if someone troubles them. In the video, an older man was using ‘Grand theft auto three’ as a murder and carjacking simulator to train the team on performing this act. It is a severe threat in the area and an issue to the safety of people. Six major healthcare organizations, including the American medical association, have testified a direct link between these kinds of games and teen violence. Law enforcement had found out that young people playing grand theft auto drove a truck and ran over a man they didn't even know, and when they came home, they thought that it's just an extension of the game. It makes the game potentially dangerous and a serious problem. To make the process better, Parents need to be responsive. Parents should not go along with the children and purchase games which are rated "M - Mature". Parents need to know where your child is going and all the activities. If parents know what music, movies their children are watching, they should also know about the games their children are playing to avoid these kinds of issues. Laws must get more stringent, and stores selling those games should check Ids before giving it to anyone. All the retailers/online providers should have a strict verification mechanism to make sure only 17 years and older can purchase the game. Game makers claim that the San Andreas game is for adults based and is fictional interactive entertainment and no more than that, but the designers should think before creating these games. They should think about how it will affect society and adverse effects. Game makers say that it is for entertainment and relieves stress. But I feel that this is not the correct way of relieving stress. There might be some alternative games without violence, which can also reduce stress.
