LLD100WB S. Stranahan Company Assessment Report (CAR) General Purpose: What are you looking for in an employer? Many students face the problem of making a good choice when selecting a company to work for upon graduation. The objective of this report is twofold: 1. To understand industries pre and during the COVID pandemic 2. To assess your fit with your chosen companies For this report you will select two companies that you would consider working for (excluding Facebook, Apple, Alphabet, and their subsidiaries). • • • Research and analyze the industries of your selected companies Choose the 2-3 criteria that are most important to you, such as pay, flexible work environment, the opportunity for advancement, ethical management, diverse workforce, community involvement, social justice policies etc. Then, research each company to evaluate how well it fulfills your criteria. In conclusion, if both companies made you a job offer, which one, both, or neither would you accept? Be ready to defend your decision. This report will be developed from a Work Plan through three drafts. Significant revisions are expected on each draft. This report focuses on key concepts that you will use in future classes and later when you write on-the-job. These concepts include purpose, audience awareness, summary, research, conclusions, analytical thinking, format, and clear/concise writing.
