DBAS 1007 Lab 8 (Ch. 7 Text)
Directions:
In this lab you will be using several databases. You will use the file ch_7_lab_8_files.zip from Week 9 on
Brightspace for this course. You are to download the file and unzip the file containing the various
databases and then upload them to differently named schema as per the database name indicated
below.
NOTE:
The images in the text for numbers is not quite how your resultant table answers will show especially
regarding the number of digits after the decimal and whether the numbers are aligned to the left.
For Problems 1 – 8:
Use the Ch07_CONSTRUCTCO database. Ensure you make a new Schema with the CONSTRUCTCO name.
Once you have made the database, ensure you right click on the Schema and from the pop up menu
select Refresh All. Also, make sure you select the database schema by double clicking on it to do the SQL
problems 1 – 8.
For Problems 9 – 18, 20 - 26:
Use the Ch07_SALECO database. Ensure you make a new Schema with the SALECO name. Once you have
created the database, ensure you right click on the Schema and from the pop up menu select Refresh
All. Also, make sure you select the database schema by double clicking on it to do the SQL problems 926.
Problem 21: Use a subquery to get answer as text shows, otherwise join customer to invoice to get
another answer.
Problem 23: Use a subquery.
Problem 24: Use a subquery.
Use the write up procedure as outlined in the Lab Write Up format document found in the Course
Materials and Information Section.
Any diagrams are to be included in the lab write up using the Snipping Tool. See Using the Snipping Tool
in the Course Materials and Information section.
Upload all answers in one file called DBAS 1007 Lab 8 to Brightspace.
