- Do you think GM food are bad or good ? Both of human and environment ? – Well,
it’s complicated. Despite what many people might claim, there is no evidence that
GM food are bad for you to eat, use, touch or rub into your skin.
- Humans have been actually performing a low-tech version of the kind of food for a
thousand years ago. Ancient farmers did it with maize, that’s sweetcorn.
- Do you want to try how its taste ? There are 2 types of corn that so similar to all of
us. How do you feel? One is simple and one is sweet, right?
- This is a first benefit of GM food I want to show you.
 To human :
 More nutritious food, tastier food
 Increased supply of food with reduced cost and longer shelf life – make profits,
convenient for customers
 Faster growing
 Food with more desirable traits, such as potatoes that produce less of a cancercausing substance when fried
 Medicinal foods that could be used as vaccines or other medicines
 To environment :
 How GMOs can help Solve Climate Change ?
 Let’s look at some examples:
 Resistance to pests and disease decreases the need for pesticides
 Increased resilience against heat, drought, and salty soils improves yields in
climates that are challenging for crop growth
 Genes that increase shelf life reduce food waste
