CELL UNIT PROJECT STUDENT NANE: ________________________________ DUE DATE: ___________ In this unit’s project, you will compare and contrast the structure of a typical plant cell with that of a typical animal cell. Project format- You will present the structural differences in a visual form. Your project must be submitted as a poster or model that includes illustrations of both cells. Required elements- Your project must contain the following elements for full credit: √ Poster must be submitted on poster paper (not 8 ½ x 11 printer paper) and models must be at least 6” to 10”in diameter (check with MS. Venkat if you have any questions about size). √ Your name must be printed on the bottom right corner of your poster or model. √ Project must contain one diagram or model of a typical animal cell, and one diagram or model of a typical plant cell. It is suggested that shared structures/functions be labeled in between the two diagrams/models. √ Each organelle must be clearly shown in the diagram/model, labeled and include a brief description of its function. √ Project must be in color with clear labels. Labels should be in black ink, either typed or in sharpie/marker. Pencil and pen are not acceptable. √ Include the following cell structures o Cell wall o Cell membrane o Nucleus o Cytoplasm o Golgi Apparatus o Ribosomes o Endoplasmic Reticulum (rough and smooth) o Mitochondria o Vacuoles o Lysosomes o Chloroplasts Grading Criteria- Your project will be assessed using the provided rubric on the following criteria: √ Overall presentation √ Spelling, grammar and neatness √ Accuracy √ Creativity (have fun…glitter makes for good ribosomes!) √ Completion √ Punctuality
