Teacher Identified Professional Development (TIPD) transfer to NESA starting Term 4, 2020 Teachers need to demonstrate how their practice continues to meet the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (ASPT) to maintain their accreditation at Proficient, Highly Accomplished or Lead. For a teacher maintaining proficiency they must complete at least 100 hours of Professional Development (PD) that includes a minimum 50 hours of NESA Registered PD. The remaining hours can be a combination of NESA Registered and Teacher Identified Professional Development (TIPD). TIPD is any professional learning activity that enhances and strengthens teaching practice and aligns to the APST. From Term 4, courses labelled as TIPD in MyPL will start to flow into your eTAM’S account as a potential TIPD (Teacher Identified Professional Development) entry. This will occur for courses completed after the start of Term 4 if you are maintaining your accreditation. There will be no retrospective transfer of TIPD courses completed before this date. The MyPL team cannot manually add TIPD entries to eTAM’S accounts. Staff maintaining accreditation will still be able to manually add a TIPD entry to their eTAM’S account at any time. Staff will be able to decide if they would like to use or remove TIPD that has been transferred from MyPL into eTAMS. To edit a TIPD entry, please follow the steps outlined below. Login to your NESA eTAMS account at https://etams.nesa.nsw.edu.au/SignIn?ReturnUrl=%2f Expand the "Maintenance of Accreditation" link in the left hand menu and select “Teacher Identified PD” Courses transferred through the automatic data exchange will be listed as in the table below. Click on the “EDIT” button next to the entry you would like to edit. Or, click the “REMOVE” button to remove a TIPD entry no longer needed. Edit any of the fields listed, including identifying and describing the Standard Descriptors the TIPD activity addressed. Click the “Update Teacher Identified activity” button when you have finished editing. Your TIPD activity will have been updated and will contribute towards your maintenance of accreditation requirements.
