The route map is shown in the Figure 1. Figure 1: Route Map 2.0 OBJECTIVE The objective of this report is to present the International Roughness Index (IRI) compliance result. This IRI result was compared against JKR Standard Specification (JKR/SPJ-2008) for the new constructed road as shown in Table 1. The field work was carried out on 04/03/2020 & 29/07/2020 with a total length of 62.800 ln-km. 4.0 METHODOLOGY The pavement functional condition was collected using IKRAM Road Scanner (IRS). The IRS is one of the latest network survey vehicles developed by ARRB Transport Research utilizing progressive technologies. This vehicle was designed to capture pavement functional condition data, survey mapping information and roadside asset details whilst travelling at highway speed. This fully-featured vehicle contains a compact workstation capable of capturing and storing individual data elements for roughness, rutting, texture and surface condition, as well as providing high-detail video images of road and roadside assets. The IRS is made of seven (7) packages which are the Profiler Package, Gipsitrac Geometry Package, GPS Package, Video Package, Distance Package, Transverse Profile & Rutting Package and Laser Crack Measurement System Package. This capability put the IRS survey into Class I profile techniques - the same class as the rod-and-level survey, the TRL beam, the dipstick and the walking profiler. To measure the longitudinal surface profile, the Profiler Package measured and recorded the vertical distance between the Profiler Package and the pavement surface, the vertical acceleration of the profiler beam, time and distance at which the parameters were recorded. International Roughness Index (IRI) is calculated based on the longitudinal surface shape using a computer-based model of a quarter car suspension. However, 5% of the surveyed location was not complied with JKR requirement which the IRI is equal or greater than 2.0 m/km. Detailed IRI results as shown in Item 6.0 on the following page.
