Thou shalt not compare thyself with others. “ Compare yourself to yourself everyday” Do not focus on the wrong things in life. “Jealousy and envy are poisons to a man’s soul.” • Be content of who you are. • “ Every year our life should elevate/ develop.” * If the money you are earning make your life easier, you are using it properly. * Start associating YOURSELF with POSITIVE people. Thou shalt not complain under any circumstances. “ I will be happy once I have ____” “Happiness depends on happening.” Why do people complain? “ Life is not fair.” - unfair (victim mindset) “We can NEVER CHOOSE what happens to us but we can SURE CHOOSE how we RESPOND” If you are not part of the SOLUTION, then you are part of the PROBLEM. “Be always be grateful and thankful.” “ If you are not HAPPY with what you have TODAY, you will NEVER be HAPPY with what you are going to have TOMORROW.” 1 inc. person + 1 inc. person = 2 incomplete persons 4. Thou shalt not QUIT. Why do people quit? - fear - short-term thinking - hopelessness “Man cannot live without hope.” “ Use words to change your life.” “Word has power.” Always PERSIST. How can you persist? - Have a compelling reason & determination. “ Life is a gift from God.” “Work hard, stay focused & never quit.” 5. Thou shalt not talk negatively about others. - crab mentality - jealousy - insecurity Negative effects: - destructive - unjust - bad culture Be part of the SOLUTION not a PROBLEM. * Always speak GOOD about OTHERS. How can we talk good about others? - Practice self-control - Confront them personally - Practice the golden rule “ People who try to RUIN others are usually UNHAPPY & LONELY.” 6. Thou shalt not focus on the PROBLEM. “ Do not find fault; find remedy.” (Henry Ford) “ To every problem there is a solution, if you are not part of the SOLUTION, then you are PART of the PROBLEM.” Is this a system problem? Is this a people problem? Is this a resource problem? 7. Thou shalt not live in fear, doubt, worry and unbelief. “Worry is like a rocking chair- it’s always in motion but it never gets you anywhere. “ Always live in faith, hope, love and belief.” How can I remove fear, doubt, worry & unbelief? - Live one day at a time -Admit that you are not in control - Have faith in God. “ Afar from God, I am NOTHING.” 8. Thou shalt not tell a lie. Why do people lie? - don’t want to face the consequences of their mistakes “ Always tell the TRUTH.” 3 A’s -Admit - Apologize - Accept “ You can always CHOOSE the DECISION to make but you can NEVER choose the CONSEQUENCE it brings.” “ Do not make a DECISION if you are NOT EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY.” 9. Thou shalt not live in unforgiveness. Forgiveness is a matter of choice and decision. Why do you need to forgive? It is because you need PEACE. Forgive others for your own sake. “The people CLOSEST to us are the people who HURT us most.” 10. Thou shalt not put your trust in yourself. “ Always put TRUST in the LORD.” “We should not live our LIFE based on the criteria of OTHERS, but according to what GOD wants us to.
