This job saw me selling denim wear to the public. My daily duties included greeting customers in a
friendly manner when entering the shop and selling the clothing to them. I would help keep the shop
and dressing room areas clean and tidy and also help with the display of goods. I handled cash at
the till ensuring I gave the customer the correct change.
Sewing Machinist – Hyers Sewing Factory
This job saw me working in the clothing industry again but this time I was involved in the
manufacture of quality garments for Marks and Spencer. In this job I also inspected garments for
quality and unpicked any mistakes I had made. I left this employment due to having a baby.
Barmaid – New Inn Pub
My hours of work for this employment was two nights per week. My duties as a barmaid included
socialising and serving customers with drinks and bar snacks, keeping a clean bar and glasses for
customers to drink from. It also entailed cash handling.
Canvasser – Seaview Home Improvements
This job saw me finding new customers through telesales and cold calling. It was my job to provide
leads for the salesmen to close deals on.
Voluntary Worker – Scope
This job saw me helping out in the day to day running of quite a busy charity shop. My duties
involved sorting and pressing stock ready to hang on the rails instore.
Bookings Clerk/Fundraiser - Yes Promotions
This job saw me calling venues within the north east, Scotland and Yorkshire for bookings of venues
for fundraisers. I also occasionally did instore collections for fundraising. I was also involved with
counting up at the end of day money brought in from collections/fundraising events.
