Job Description – Quantity Surveyor • Review tender documents and understand scope of work to bid • Review and analyse drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labour estimates for projects • Undertake site visit and assist Supervisor in completing valuations of work complete on site • Assist Supervisor in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies • Prepare detailed and accurate measurements, quantity take-offs, pricing schedules, program schedules and cost plans of construction documents • Obtain and review quotations from subcontractors, and select suitable subcontractors • Prepare and submit quotes including any required supporting tender documents • Follow up procurement of materials • Prepare the project cost analysis by recapitulating material, labour, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred in the process of projects • Inform Supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database • Maintain registers of variations and claims, delays, instructions • Assist Supervisor in the mining office in ordering materials and organising quotes and purchase orders • Building strong internal and external working relationships May need to undertake other tasks as directed
