A consistent acknowledgement of my interests made me believe that I know what I am made for.
I have an interminable interest in digital signal processing and control systems and this is the
reason that I have decided to pursue a MS degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in
digital signal processing at National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech). I always
had fondness for these two subjects but my interest escalated when I did my final year project
and some image processing assignments during my Bachelors. The Undergraduate courses were
vulnerable enough to give me knowledge about core courses of communication systems and
control and hence; I want to enhance my knowledge in this track of studies.
Signal processing is field that has changed our lives. In a very short period it has changed the
way we have been looking at things since centuries. It is one of the evergreen fields which are
going to shape our future for centuries yet to come. Hence my desire is to do Masters in
Electrical Engineering with a digital signal processing as my major. Besides this, my country
lags very much in the field of communications while its demands are at the peak in this
modernized era. My interest in communications blossomed during my college years and hence
Electrical Engineering with communications as major was my first choice for my undergraduate
studies. Right since the beginning of my undergraduate study, digital signal processing is a
subject that has fascinated me with its power of applications. A master’s degree in electrical
engineering with signal processing as major field is the next logical step. I strongly believe that
after attaining the comprehensive knowledge in this field, I would best be able to contribute in
the development and progress in the field of control and make my career as a professional
Communication Engineer. I have done research in design of observer for LPV (Linear Parameter
Varying) system during my BS, and I wrote two research paper based on my results of research.
One of the paper has been accepted in a conference to be held on 27-28 Dec while the other one
is currently under review of an international journal and will be published in few months
hopefully. My ambition is to implement all the acquired knowledge by engaging myself in
project activities which can convert my theoretical knowledge, concepts and ideas into practical
applications and reality.
The research subjects of my interest are image and speech processing. Machine learning and
artificial intelligence are the other research subjects that aroused my curiosity. I am eager to find
out more about the applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms for
image and speech processing.
My academic performance has always been a priority for me, which is evident from my GPA in
semesters and from my previous examination results. I scored 74.6% marks in my secondary
school examination (SSC), 76.18% in higher secondary school examination (HSSC) and have a
CGPA of 3.67 on the scale of 4 (higher than 80%) in my Bachelors of Electrical Communication
Engineering. I was among top students of the department and achieved 3rd position in my batch
during the BE. Besides I am quite good at English language skills, which is evident from the
English Proficiency Certificate given to me by my Undergraduate school.
The reason for applying for MS scholarship is that it is a prestigious scholarship which will give
me a golden chance to pursue my advanced study in Taiwan for higher studies and learn new
skills and meet the most hospitable people of the world. I want to learn about Taiwan's culture
and make a healthy relationship with the local people of Taiwan. Taiwan universities are among
the top universities of the world which provides its students with good quality education, and I
always wanted to get an opportunity to study in Taiwan. Actually, I am a kind of sociable person,
and if I get a chance to study in a NTUT then it will really provide me with a vantage to create
new relationships with people from different cultures and countries. The academic standards and
eclectic research activities have set Taiwan universities as such an exemplar that no other
university can be. Taiwan's esteemed institutions have delineated the world that how genial it is
for international students, and provides them with towering, multi-national and research-oriented
education along with well-unified experiences. Almost all students of any Taiwan university
have remarkable views about that, which has evinced that Taiwan has the best universities of the
present epoch. All these things about Taiwan have inspired me a lot. I believe that Taipei Tech
has got copious of resources to facilitate wishful students like me to be exposed to the latest
avenues in their chosen fields and create inevitable opportunities to prove their skills. I assure
you that you will find in me a resolute, disciplined, committed and an eager beaver person who
will be eager to learn new skills with sagacity and bring accolades to his Alma mater. I think that
such a program is germane in the pursuit of my academic career and will enhance my pace to
achieve my goals.
To put it in a nutshell, that all amounts to saying that Taipei Tech demands for intelligible,
staunch dedication and a lot of persistence, and I am confident that I will meet all the abovementioned demands and will prove to be active in academic and project activities. I hope that
you will consider my academic qualification and achievements and accept me for this program. I
am looking forward to join Master of Engineering program in Taipei Tech and prove my abilities
and learn new skills and advance my academic career and I am hoping for your positive reply.
