Ig
Ground fault pick up setting. It is used on styles to set the ground
fault pick up as a percentage of the frame current (In).
Ir
Breaker Rating current is the maximum RMS current a breaker can carry
continuously (In). The DT trip unit will trip within 2 hours for an
overload of 135 % of Ir.
Isd
Setting in multiples of Ir for short circuit conditions that exceed the
short delay pick-up setting, the trip unit initiates a trip after a
predetermined delay.
Magnetic trip uses an electromagnetic device, with fixed (fixed
instantaneous trip) or adjustable (adjustable instantaneous
trip) threshold, which actuates the instantaneous trip of the circuit
breaker on a pre-determined overcurrent value (multiple of the In) with
a constant trip time (about some tens of milliseconds). This trip unit is
intended for the protection against short circuit or inrush/instantaneous
trip) elements. This is used primarily for conductor protection. The mag
only is mainly used for motor protection. Uses coils through which
current passes through which actuates a tripping mechanism which releases
the latching unit to open the breaker contacts and interrupt current
flow.
Protection Tests:
Protection Tests
No Long Delay Pick Up
Sends the correct settings down to the unit and applies current to
pole A. Verifies the product DOES NOT pick up or trip in the
specified time. Ground Fault is turned on for this test.
Long Delay Pick Up
Sends the correct settings down to the unit and applies current to
pole A. Verifies the product does picks up but DOES NOT trip in the
specified time. Ground Fault is turned on for this test.
Long Delay Time
Sends the correct settings down to the unit and applies current to
pole B. Verifies the product trips in the specified time. The trip
code from the unit is also verified . Ground Fault is turned off for
this test.
Instantaneous No Trip Test
Sends the correct settings down to the unit and applies current to
pole A. Verifies the product DOES NOT trip in the specified time. The
trip code from the unit is also verified . Ground Fault is turned off
for this test.

the unit is also verified . Ground Fault is turned on for this test.
Proximity sensor
inductive proximity sensors detect metal objects without contact.
Rating Plug
The rating plug and phase current sensors define maximum continuous
current rating (In) of the circuit breaker. The rating plug and phase
current sensors also determine the maximum instantaneous setting. If the
rating plug is removed from the protective relay, the circuit breaker
will trip if it is carrying current.
ROBO Cylinders® are highly efficient electric actuators.
RMM Remote Mode
The Remote mode is enabled by applying 24 VDC to the yellow (+) and Black
(common) wires from left side of breaker. The Blue LED lights when the
breaker is in Remote Mode.
Shunt Trip
Test Kit 70C1056 Performs a test of the Long Delay, Short Delay, and
Ground Fault functions.
Thermal trip uses a bimetal thermal device which actuates the opening of
a circuit breaker with a delay depending on the overcurrent value. This
trip unit is intended for the protection against overloads.
Tr
The number of seconds required to trip @ 6 X Ir (continuous rating
current).
Tsd
A flat response as per this setting short delay (120ms, 300ms ex.)
Withstand Rating is the fault current the breaker must be able to
withstand for a specified time or if it is protected by a fuse or another
circuit breaker in series with it.
UVR
Under voltage Release. With voltage applied, it pulls in a solenoid. If
the voltage drops below a specified value the solenoid is released and
causes the breaker to trip.
FAILURES:
CNT – continuity failure from line to load
L2L – dielectric failure from line to load
LD Long Delay
P2P – dielectric failure from phase to phase
P2G – dielectric failure from phase to ground
