What is the difference between a vision and a mission? In educations
institutions like Bicol University, a vision is a statement, which focuses on tomorrow and
what the institution wants to ultimately become. It is an inspirational statement of an
idealistic future and forward–looking because to create impact in every community would
conceivably take a lifetime or many lifetimes to achieve.
A mission on the other hand, is a statement, which focuses on today and what an
institution does to achieve it. It is a brief description of why an institution exists. A mission
describes what does and for whom. Both the vision and mission are vital in directing goals.
Aside from the University’s vision and mission stated above, please also take note
that BU your alma mater has its four core values namely, scholarship, leadership,
character and service. Each one of you has to imbibe all these core values.
How will you differentiate the institutional, program and course learning outcomes?
The institutional learning outcomes are those you have to exude as a graduate of Bicol
University; program-learning outcomes are those expected of you to deliver as a graduate
of BPeA; and, the course learning outcomes are those, which you have mastered after
finishing the course.
How much have you Learned?
For this lesson’s output, do the following:
1.) Write a one-paragraph essay (not to exceed 50 words) explaining how YOU, as a BPeA
student can help BU attain its vision and mission.
2.) Write five sentences of your expectations from the class and your contributions to
making the learning atmosphere meaningful.
3.) Submit your output via our Google Classroom.
