186
The Employer Nomination Scheme Subclass 186 grants
an opportunity for skilled workers to live and work in
Australia for an indefinite time period. Moreover, an
individual is allowed to study as well while working in
Australia. It enables the individual to travel outside
Australia for 5 years from the date subclass 186 was
granted. There are 3 available streams for this visa and
candidates are required to fulfil the requirements for the
specific stream they have applied for.
Who Can Apply?
Below mentioned are the criteria that are required to fulfil for all three
types of streams available for visa subclass 186 1. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of working experience.
2. There should be no amount due in your name, if there is any then you need to
pay it off in order to get this visa.
3. Candidates should be nominated for the job by the approved Australian
employer.
4. Applicants should have met the character and health test criteria.
Difference Between Three Streams Of
Subclass 186
1. Direct Entry Stream:
Those who are not eligible to apply for the 186 visa under temporary residence
transition stream then they can easily apply under this stream. Moreover, it is an
easier way to get a permanent subclass 186 visa.
Eligibility Criteria For Direct Entry Stream
• The occupation should be listed under the eligible skilled occupations.
• You must have at least 3 years of working experience in the same field you have
applied for.
• You need to pass the skilled assessment test.
2. Labour Agreement Stream:
Those who are nominated by the employer who has a labour agreement with
the Australian government are granted subclass 186 under the labour
agreement stream.
Eligibility Criteria For Labour Agreement Stream
• If you are in Australia, then If you must possess substantive visa 457 or
TSS 482 visa.
• You must be under 45 years of age.
• Employers should have a labour agreement.
3. Temporary Residence Transition Stream:
The 186 Employer Nomination Scheme will be granted under temporary
residence transition stream to those candidates who are already working in
Australia holding subclass 457, TSS 482 Visa, or any bridging visa.
Eligibility Criteria For Temporary Residence Transition Stream
• Must have worked for the Australian employer for a minimum of 3 years full
time.
• Candidates should already have TSS 482 visa, Substantive 457 or Bridging
Visas.
