Änderungen Gegenüber DIN SPEC 91400:2015-01 wurde folgende Änderung vorgenommen: a) Vorwort: Neuer Hinweis hinzugefügt bzgl. Amendments The main changes with respect to DIN SPEC 91400:2015-01 are listed below: a) Foreword: New information added regarding download-source of the IFC catalogue file. Previous editions DIN SPEC 91400: 2015-01 3 DIN SPEC 91400:2017-02 Introduction The joint base of all the BIM applications is the spatial building elements framework. All building information models can be broken down into spaces, building elements, their properties and their reciprocal relationships. Several disciplines, all with their own specific software solution, can only work together on building information models truly if the data exchange is of a high quality standard. IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), published as ISO 16739, is the accepted international standard for exchanging building information models. It has a well established syntax for representing a building model's geometric and topological structures. IFC includes a classification with numerous elements and their characteristic properties already as well. Working with building information models requires consistent BIM content definitions. For this and the national requirements the IFC classification isn't specific enough. DIN SPEC 91400 provides the user with an element-based classification and specification system for BIM, that is coherent in it's syntax and semantics with IFC. Being based on the semantic order system of STLB-Bau -Dynamische BauDaten- (master specifications for construction) DIN SPEC 91400 specifies a catalogue of classified property sets for building elements including their characteristic properties and values. Normen-Download-Beuth-Toni Zhubi-ID.N1GIKR4RV12FZOLAXEP362NK.1-2020-08-13 18:00:05 It is the aim of the 'BIM classification according to STLB-Bau' to establish a standard that uses essential building element information to facilitate a sufficiently precise building element typing, a standardized semantical data exchange, the linking of the catalogue data with existing standards, building material and product data bases as well as with other national and international classification systems. 4 DIN SPEC 91400:2017-02 1 Scope The scope of DIN SPEC 91400 covers the whole field of setting up and working with building information models. By using the catalogue data from the DIN SPEC 91400 building information models can be equipped with specific building element properties that are based on the semantic order system of STLBBau -Dynamische BauDaten- and are coherent with the syntax and the semantics of ISO 16739. The file format of the catalogue file can enable the integrated usage and storage of the original catalogue in building information model files according to ISO 16739. Applying DIN SPEC 91400 to building information modeling will have the following benefits: Building information models can be enriched by adding consistently subedited data in the customary specific technical language. The properties' unique identifiers support the IFC data exchange. They make it possible that the data is computer readable as well as permanently linked to additional external information. This will enable a building information model's interoperability down to a level of properties and their values. By linking to the master specification system STLB-Bau -Dynamische BauDaten- it is possible to use the data from the planning phase consistently for specifying and costing. Data that is put into the model once can be accessed and used again and again throughout a building's whole lifecycle. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. DIN EN ISO 16739, Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) for data sharing in the construction and facility management industries (ISO 16739:2013) 3 Terms and definitions Normen-Download-Beuth-Toni Zhubi-ID.N1GIKR4RV12FZOLAXEP362NK.1-2020-08-13 18:00:05 For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in ISO 16739 and the following apply. 3.1 AEC element Architecture Engineering & Construction element architectural, engineering or construction element to be incorporated in a building or structure 3.2 AEC element properties distinctive properties of AEC elements, that can be quantitative, qualitative as well as material properties Note 1 to entry: Quantitative properties specify e. g. an AEC element's linear, areal or volumetric expansion. Qualitative properties specify an AEC element's qualities, that can be derived from the material properties and the processing of the used materials. 5 DIN SPEC 91400:2017-02 3.3 Building Information Modeling BIM way of working, where the spatial building element framework is being set up within a digital building information model and a building's or structure's spaces, AEC elements and technical assets are specified by their distinctive properties and their reciprocal relationships Note 1 to entry: BIM is a means to structure, visualize, retract and to exchange building, structure and building element information. 3.4 BIM data model class structure as a meta model for building information models Note 1 to entry: e. g. Industry Foundation Classes (IFC). 3.5 building information model specific building's or structure's information model resulting from building information modeling 3.6 building information model file physical file containing specific building's or structure's building information model 3.7 Catalogue systematically ordered directory for AEC elements and their properties, that can be used to enrich building information models 3.8 catalogue file digital file containing a specific catalogue 4 Catalogue requirements Normen-Download-Beuth-Toni Zhubi-ID.N1GIKR4RV12FZOLAXEP362NK.1-2020-08-13 18:00:05 4.1 General The catalogue consists of a global data pool with navigation tree, AEC element classes, properties and property values as well as property sets for the AEC element classes. 4.2 Navigation tree A navigation tree is a means for a guided search for an AEC element. Its hierarchical specializing order structure refines incrementally with a root knot as the base. The refinement is only furthered to the extent that it makes sense to form an AEC element class. 4.3 AEC element classes An AEC element class is formed by similar AEC elements, that can be specified by using the same group of properties. The number of discriminating properties can differ depending on the individual AEC element class. 6 DIN SPEC 91400:2017-02 4.4 Properties and Property Values Properties specify the qualities of an AEC element class. There are two types of properties. Enumerative properties have a value list to choose from, numerical properties can be valued freely within the perimeter of the properties' data type and unit of measurement. 4.5 Property sets According to the structure of IFC Property Sets standardised in ISO 16739 properties are organised in property sets. A property set comprises a certain number of properties selected from the global data pool specifically for one AEC element class. A property set has the same structure as IFC property sets. It will be referenced also to one or more applicable IFC entities. 4.6 Global data pool The DIN SPEC 91400 global data pool comprises AEC element classes, properties and their values all of which are represented only by Globally Unique Identifiers (GUID) for unambiguity and persistence reasons. German technical natural language terms will be collected in the global data pool separately and will be referenced to these GUIDs. 5 Catalogue file requirements 5.1 General The catalogue file will be made available as an IFC-format file. For representing the catalogue the different forms of storage are required as follows. 5.2 Root entity The catalogue's root entity will be represented by using the IFC entity "IfcProject". 5.3 Partial classifications The BIM classification according to STLB-Bau will be split up for the catalogue file into the following partial classifications: Normen-Download-Beuth-Toni Zhubi-ID.N1GIKR4RV12FZOLAXEP362NK.1-2020-08-13 18:00:05 a) enumerative properties and their values; b) numerical properties; c) AEC element classes; d) navigation tree; e) technical terms. Each of these partial classifications will be represented by using the IFC entity "IfcClassification". 5.4 Enumerative properties and their values The enumerative properties and their values will be represented and referenced to the partial classification "Enumerative properties and their values" by using the IFC entity "IfcClassificationReference". 7 DIN SPEC 91400:2017-02 5.5 Numerical properties The numerical properties will be represented and referenced to the partial classification "Numerical properties" by using the IFC entity "IfcClassificationReference". 5.6 AEC element classes The AEC element classes will be represented and referenced to the partial classification "AEC element classes" by using the IFC entity "IfcClassificationReference". 5.7 Navigation tree The navigation tree will be represented and referenced to the partial classification "Navigation tree" by using the IFC entity "IfcClassificationReference". 5.8 Technical terms The technical terms will be represented and referenced to the partial classification "Technical terms" by using the IFC entity "IfcClassificationReference". 5.9 Assigning AEC element classes to the navigation tree The AEC element classes will be assigned to the navigation tree by using the IFC entity „IfcExternalReferenceRelationship“. 5.10 Assigning technical natural language terms to GUIDs The technical natural language terms will be assigned to the GUIDs by using the IFC entity „IfcExternalReferenceRelationship“. 5.11 Property sets The property sets will be represented by using the IFC entity „IfcPropertySetTemplate“. 5.12 For property sets selected properties Normen-Download-Beuth-Toni Zhubi-ID.N1GIKR4RV12FZOLAXEP362NK.1-2020-08-13 18:00:05 The properties for a property set will be selected from the global pool and will be represented as a substructure of "IfcPropertySetTemplate" by using the IFC entity „IfcSimplePropertyTemplate“. 5.13 Value enumeration for property sets The valid values for an enumerative property and the property set will be represented as a substructure of "IfcPropertySetTemplate" by using the IFC entity „IfcPropertyEnumeration“. 5.14 Referencing property sets to AEC element classes Property sets will be referenced AEC elements classes out of the global data pool using the IFC entity „IfcRelAssociatesClassification“. 6 Requirements for the integration of the catalogue data in building information model files in the format IFC (ISO 16739) AEC elements in building information models to be used for the standardized IFC data exchange shall be specified according to DIN SPEC 91400 using the respective DIN SPEC 91400 catalogue file GUIDs with the prefix ‘DINSPEC91400::’. The catalogue data can be embedded into the IFC building information model file directly. 8
