After a much elongated stay away from the Lavale campus, upon arriving to the Hilltop, there was clearly a need of an
event where the MBA-1 batch could wind down and socialise with their batch mates as well as their seniors. Under
normal circumstances, these need would have been catered by Hoopsters event but that had to be skipped for these
year. So when within just a week of joining the campus the dates and programme of Gravitas was announced, there
was a wave of fanfare equal to none. The date of commencement was announced as 18th February on the SMT
Instagram handle. A total of 8 colleges namely SIBM, SCMHRD, NITIE, NMIMS, JBIMS, MICA, IIT Bombay, KJSIMR and
MICA in Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis, Carrom , Chess & Pool. SIBM will
look to defend its title of the champions of Gravitas 2020. This version of Gravitas introduces an E sports events
featuring 3 titles: FIFA 20, CS: GO and PUBG. Counter strike and PUBG will include 5 member teams best of three match
format. While the FIFA20 will see a 1v1 between team players and if both teams win one, a third match will be played
as 2v2.
The event will start on 10th March with a short address by SIBM Director Dr R Raman highlighting the importance of
sports in life and declaring the event open. The theme “Mind over Matter” will be announced by the mascot “Gayle
the Whale”. This will be followed by electrifying dance performance of SIBM students Rohit Ghosh and Shruthi
Rajapurkar. A melodic singing performance will be delivered by Mahesh Sharma.
Next day will mark the commencement of sporting tournaments. A total of 50 volunteers will help in the seamless
execution of the event. These three days will see of the matches in 10 different sports with a college being awarded 5
points for winning a tournament, 3 for standing a runner up and 1 point for the second runner up. Nestle is going to
be the official Nutrition Partner. Lifebuoy will be the official Sanitation Partner. Archies was roped in as the official
gifting partner.

will provide the Sony PlayStation systems for conducting the E sports events. 13th March will see the Prize Distribution
ceremony to the winning teams and a final address by Student President Mr. Bhuvan Chada.
