could laminate the pages and use them in a playdough center with playdough alphabet

laminated pages, children can use dry erase crayons or markers for this section), stamp it

learners.
Directions for use:
The worksheets in this packet are very basic and concentrate solely on a focus word . The
aim is to familiarise the student with the new sight word and to reinforce correct letter
sequencing to form the word. Tasks include writing the focus sight word on writing lines and
whole-word shape boxes, identifying the focus words among other words of varied fonts
and then cutting and pasting letter tiles in correct order to make the focus word.
The worksheets in this book can be used while working with the entire class, in small groups,
or one-on-one with individual children. They can also be assigned as homework for
additional practice to reinforce words learnt in the classroom.

Directions for use:
The worksheets in this unit have children completing 2 tasks. First, they are asked to trace
the sight word in focus on two writing lines. Next, they practice writing the sight word 3 times
in 3 different sentences. They can then read their sentences.
The handwriting sheets in this book can be used while working with the entire class or in small
groups. They would make great homework sheets and would also be ideal for morning work
or early finisher work or however you see fit! I have included a cover page if you wish to
bind them together in a booklet for each child.
I have included 2 versions of each handwriting sheet for your convenience: one with dotted
lines and one with a continued tracing line.

There are 2 different pages that focus on the same 4 sight words at a time.
The first worksheet requires children to complete a basic word search and then complete 2
sentences by writing one of the 2 focus words on the empty line.
The second worksheet requires children to match the four focus words into their box shapes,
unscramble the mixed up words and then colour a picture using a special code!
The worksheets in this book can be used while working with the entire class, in small groups,
or one-on-one with individual children. They would make a great assessment but they can
also be used for revision purposes during morning work, as early finisher work, homework or

About this book:
This book contains a collection of pre-primer sight words word find pages intended for use with children in Preschool, Kindergarten
(Prep) and Grade 1.
Directions for use:
Children beginning to read struggle with the common Word Find worksheet. In fact, a grid as small as 4X4 with only 4 words to find
can often prove to be a challenge for these little learners. For that reason, I have made this set of Word Find worksheets where they
really do look for the word - the whole word - while still concentrating on letter sequence!
Each worksheet focuses on one sight word at a time. The focus sight word is written in large text in the middle of the page and children
search for it among the other sight words within the unit. This way, children not only learn the focus word , but they also familiarise
themselves with the other sight words from the pre-primer word list. Once children have found all the words, they write the number of
times the word was found in the circle located at the bottom right-hand of the page.
I have left these worksheets “instruction-less” so that you can help children develop any other skills you wish. If children require
additional practice writing the sight word, you may like to ask them to rainbow trace the word in the middle. Otherwise, they can colour
it. You might also have them draw ceratin shapes around each word, instead of simply circling them. Or you might ask them to colour
the words using a specific colour. Or, you might use dot-paints (bingo dabbers) - which is always heaps of fun - to identify the word
they are searching for. It’s really up to you!

This book contains a collection of pre-primer sight words word cut and paste picture scrambles intended for use with children in
Preschool, Kindergarten (Prep) and Grade 1.
Directions for use:
The aim of this cut and paste activity is for children to correctly order letters to form sight words and reveal the scrambled picture.
I recommend that children begin by colouring the scrambled picture, even if they are not able to guess what the picture might be.
After they have finished colouring, children cut along the dotted lines and paste the images by letter order to form the sight word
indicated on each page.
Alternatively, if using a glue stick, children can colour the images after they have glued the scrambled pictures in the correct order.

This book contains a collection of pre-primer Build-a-Sight-Word cut and paste booklets intended for use with
children in Preschool, Kindergarten (Prep) and Grade 1.
Directions for use:
The pages in this unit can be printed to match your weekly spelling words. For each week, print the cover of your
choice and the pages that contain the sight words you will be working on. Cut the pages in half, making sure to leave
the letter tiles on the right hand side intact, and then staple them together to make a booklet. Alternatively, you can
hand out the loose pages and ask children to put them in alphabetical order and then staple together.
The aim of this activity is for children to write the sight word in focus on the line provided, then to build it using the
letter tiles on the right hand side. I have also included a writing page (the page with only handwriting lines) which can
be printed on to the back so that children can copy the sentence on the page, or make their own.
