Digital Photography One & Two PHOTOSHOP BASICS ASSIGNMENT – 50 Pts: Done in class - Due Thursday. 6/25 1. Open any photo in Photoshop & go to Image (top menu bar) - & Duplicate, then close out the original, but save the original to include for grading. 2. Go to Crop tool (tools menu on left) click & drag it to crop it, & hit return. 3. Go to Image in top menu bar & change image size to fit within 8.5x11 inch. This does not have to match exactly, only fit within it. (be sure the width & height are linked together) & put 300 in Resolution box, 4. Use clone stamp (tools menu on left) adjust the brush size (using the Bracket Keys to the right of Letter P) & option/click on a spot to copy over to another area. 5. Go to the top menu, click on Layers, then New Adjustment Layer & click on Hue/ Saturation & change the overall image with the sliders dramatically. 6. Repeat step 5 above but choose any other adjustment in the menu Ex. Bright/Contrast. 7. Select an area of the photo using any of the selection tools 2nd , 3rd or 4th down in tools menu on left 8. With an area now selected Go to the top menu, click on Layers, then New Adjustment Layer & click on Hue/Saturation & change the selected portion of the image with the sliders dramatically. 9. Go to File – Save As – (Format- Photoshop) PSD, Save in: your folder on your desktop! Then save again the same way but this time as a JPEG (.JPG).
