5980 Series
Dual Column Floor Model
5980 Dual Column Floor Model testing systems can be used over a
range of force applications up to 600 kN (134,800 lb, 60000 kg). A
variety of load cells are available to provide accurate measurements
for applications ranging from thin metals to those utilizing the full
capacity of the load frame. Additionally, a full range of grips, fixtures,
and strain measurement devices are also available. In combination
with Instron® Bluehill® Software, these testing systems provide high
performance, flexibility, accuracy, and usability. Applications solutions
include high-strength metals and alloys, advanced composites,
aerospace and automotive structures, composites, bolts, fasteners,
plate steels, and many more.

Notes:
1. Load weighing system meets or surpasses
the following standards: ASTM E4, BS 1610,
DIN 51221, ISO 7500-1, EN 10002-2 and
AFNOR A03-501. Instron® recommends that
systems are verified on site at the time of
installation as required by ASTM E4 (par. 20.3)
and ISO 7500-1 (section 9) standards.
2. Strain measurement system meets or surpasses
the following standards: ASTM E83, BS 3846,
ISO 9513, and EN 10002-4.
3. Extra-high or wide load frames and extra-high
or low speed drive systems are also available.

the top surface of the base platen to the bottom
