exit through the window if you are on the ground floor

If there is smoke in the room open the window a little so you can breathe fresh air. If not, do not open the
window. This can assist in the spread of fire into your area from lower floors;
-Attract people's attention to your plight. This can be achieved by writing on a paper and sticking it to the
window or calling out the window. If you open the window remember to close it again as this can be an
entry point for fire. Do not open the window up fully;
-If the room is filling with smoke, stay close to the ground. The air is cooler and oxygen is more plentiful in
this region;

Select three workplace hazards and explain the potential for harm and how the Hierarchy of Control can
be applied to prevent potential harm from the hazards.
1. in the storage room, shelve is overloaded, this is dangerous, if the shelve is broken, employees could
suffer serious injuries due to heavy things fall upon
in this case Hierarchy of Control can be applied, the most desirable outcome - elimination can be applied
as do not overload the shelves, the least desirable is use the protective equipment to avoid danger, it
seems impractical for this situation
2. storing heavy item at high level, this may cause danger if the item fall down
solution is do not store large, heavy item on top, store them at the bottom. it is the elimination the hazard
due to Hierarchy of Control.
3.in the cleaning room, there are lot of chemical equipment which is harmful for employees' health.
solution is employees should wear productive equipment such as gloves, glasses, masks to protect them
self, it is the least desirable choice but the other choice such as eliminate the hazard is impossible in this
situation.
