DELBAG are now able to provide. For every single selection of raw material, our mind is set on meeting
your specific air inlet filtration needs. Trust is the base
of all partnerships and ensures top-level on-site technical field support.
Owner of the Hengst Group, Jens Röttgering shares
the vision of making this planet a purer place and
there is no alternative. The Hengst group has shared
this SOUL experience and has for more than a century supplied filtration solutions for automotive and a
wide range of mechanical engineering applications.
Nordic and DELBAG both rely on multiple manufacturing sites across continents in the northern hemisphere, stretching all the way from North America in
the West across Europe to Asia in the East for producing our products. R&D teams in Germany and
Denmark are making sure that our products are fit
for tomorrow. With everything we do, we strive to
continuously improve our filters giving them the cutting edge, warranting our customer’s filtration performance and reducing the total costs of ownership.
You can rely on the joint forces of Nordic and
DELBAG filtration solutions no matter what the particular outside conditions are. Is your gas turbine installed in arctic conditions? Is your facility exposed to
frequent sandstorms? Do your regular temperatures
exceed the 40 °C mark on a daily basis? Is your filter
house located in coastal areas or on an offshore platform? DELBAG and Nordic will provide the right solutions whatever your condition may be.

A whole range of air intake
filters, newly categorised
Individual solutions for all ambient conditions
The new worldwide filter standard ISO 16890 introduces a classification of filters into new filter groups
and a realistic filter test, which primarily makes it
easier for the user to select the filter efficiency of the
filter in relation to the outdoor-air pollution in its environment.
The new system reduces the filter classification to
only four groups compared to the previous nine filter
classes. It is oriented on the size of the particles to be
filtered. This makes it easier for the user to find and
select the demand-driven filter configuration in practice – also with respect to the degree of arrestance
and energy efficiency.
A filter must separate at least 50% of the respective
particle size (PM) in order to be assigned to one of
the four filter groups.

applied by ISO 16890 compared to the old EN779,
such for instance the particle size to be measured, it
is not possible to make a one-to-one comparison of
the filters from the old filter classification to the new

old classes have been taken over into the new classification system.

Effective filtration and
increased protection
Optimized performance for specific operational conditions
We focus on implementing custom solutions, providing the whole range of air intake filters designed individually for your specific air inlet filtration needs
from the replacement of filter elements to extending
and optimization of your filtration system.
The operating costs of air intake filtration systems
can be reduced through the optimized usage of air
filters and the variation of different filter types, highly efficient media and several filter stages. As a result,
the performance and the total efficiency of a
turbomachine are significantly improved. The alignment of pressure drop and filter performance are of
great importance in order to optimize the system
operation.

Water repellent treatment
for optimal filter protection
Upgrading your media solution can be very beneficial for you and in the
long-run reduces your Total Cost of Ownership.
Hydrophobic and oleophobic
The water repellent treatment increases the Hydrophobic and oleophobic properties of the media by
creating surface friction that improves the filter operation in humid conditions.
Water and salt repellent
Moist dust can lead to a so-called sticky dust cake,
which settles on the filter bags surface and thus reduces air permeability and makes the regeneration
more difficult. With the water repellent treatment,
the dust sticks less to the surface and the fiber degradation takes place slowly. This prolongs the service
life of the dust filter, while the power consumption
drops during cleaning.

Complete filter systems
The standard solutions from DELBAG are characterized by a dimensionally
harmonized modular design. Taking account of the operational conditions,
application type and space, we can also offer tailored air intake systems for
an optimum turbine performance.
MultiMaster Vario with infrared anti-icing
The DELBAG® Universal air-duct filter type MultiMaster-Vario permits individual solutions for the most diverse application areas. The system is equipped with
static filters, such as filter materials, bag filter, filter
elements, and roll filters. Filter classes of G2 to H13
can be presented. Thanks to their innovative design,
the casings have very high stability and long service
life.
RotaClean and pulse filter PowerTower
With the standard pulse filter system of type PowerTower, the technical advantages of the pulse filter
cartridges can also be inexpensively implemented for
smaller air volumes. Accordingly, the PowerTower is
especially employed for motors and smaller compressors.
DELBAG & NORDIC AIR FILTRATION Members of the Hengst Group
Static filter systems
In regions with relatively low dust concentration, a
static filter system is the most practical solution. Usually, a two-stage arrangement with pre- and fine filter
is selected in order to achieve the required filter class
and endurance. Customarily, bag filters are employed
in the first and compact filter elements in the fine filter stage.
Anti-icing systems for static filters
Pulse filter systems
Self-cleaning pulse filter plants are employed wherever there is high dust concentrations, like in desert
areas and especially burdened industrial regions. The
dust particles are separated on the surface of the filter medium. The dust cake that forms is effectively
removed on-line by counter-current pulse-jet cleaning with compressed air.
Depth filter cartridge systems
A broad field of applications can be covered with
depth filter cartridge systems. The pre-filter, which is
an economical, easy- to exchange filter sock, is pulled
directly over the depth filter cartridges. The compact
execution unites maximum filtration efficiency with
high service life. Experience has proven that anti-icing systems such as required for static plants are not
needed.
Anti-icing systems are required everywhere, where
low temperatures can occur in combination with
high air humidity. In such weather periods, the systems avoid ice formation, which can lead to a rapid
increase of the pressure loss up to the blocking of the
air filter.

Maximum protection with premium filters
Tiny dust particles of a half micrometer size can already lead to severe consequences for the operation as well as the efficiency factor. The difference is made
between erosion, corrosion, and fouling.
DELBAG & NORDIC AIR FILTRATION Members of the Hengst Group
Effects of dust particles on
turbomachines and motors
Eliminate unplanned downtime with high-quality filters.
Erosion
Erosion is defined as material removal on the blades
through dust particles > 5 μm. These particles have
an abrasive effect which influences the aerodynamics of the blades, and reduces the efficiency of the
turbomachines.
Fouling
Fouling is the deposition of particles < 5 μm that
passes the filtration system and builds-up on the
compressor. The build-up up on the blades has a
negative effect on the aerodynamics which in turn
reduces the flow of the compressor and efficiency/
output reduced.
Corrosion
Corrosion inside the Gas Turbine is caused by air
contaminations – such as natrium chloride and Sulphur that can cause hot end corrosion. These contaminants lead to damages on e.g. blade.
