The offered WHRB’S are of single drum, water tube natural circulation type and designed to recover heat energy available in the sponge iron rotary kiln exhaust gas. 02. We have designed the WHRB considering the normal gas flow parameters as furnished below and cooling the gas temperature upto 160°C at the outlet of economizer and considering the feed water temperature of 126°C at the inlet of economizer as per the data provided. Considering the same we can generate the steam quantity to 9350 Kg/hr at 68 kg/cm2(g) pressure and 495±5°C SH temperature from WHRB at MSSV outlet. Kindly note that the steam generation indicated by us is gross steam generation. The concentration of volatile chemical in the feed water should not exceed 1 ppm (expressed as ammonia). 4. If the pH of boiler water falls below the recommended range, it will considerably increase silica carryover in steam and hence suitable lower silica level should be maintained in boiler water to maintain less than 0.02 ppm in steam leaving the drum. 5. The phosphate and pH are recommended in accordance with co-ordinated phosphate curve to prevent presence of free hydroxide in boiler water. If the recommended pH is consistently obtained phosphate residual can be maintained near lower limits. 6. Water levels in drum should be maintained within limits during all operational modes, start-up, load fluctuation and normal operation. 7. The alignment of drum internal should be checked and ensured to be in order at least once every year. 8. It is needless to emphasize that correct sampling accurate measurements with the use of reliable instruments at adequate intervals and proper logging of reading go a long way in ensuring trouble free operation of boilers.
