Health awareness unit proposal
Introduction and Objective:
“Egypt Speaks Health” this would be our slogan for the Health Awareness Unit
under the supervision of the Media Office and the Spokesman, engaging up the
entire population sector in this process step wise, so a national engagement with
every Egyptian house would be achieved.
MOHP is conducting Health awareness events but they are not conducted under a
systemic strategic multi-sectorial plan, as a result great efforts are lost,
underestimated, and don’t well delivered.
Understanding about Health topics would be helpful in adapting preventive
measures, seeking medical attention and getting vaccinated.
Scaling up and strengthening the health awareness to address the knowledge gap of
100 million Egyptian, and to support, strengthen and empower the existing health
workforce, is a priority in the 2020.
The Health Awareness Unit will bring together a collaboration of networks,
agencies, academic institutions and individual experts to work collaboratively
towards the development and dissemination of this unit. The unit will be focusing
on the development of a ministerial strategy for increasing the Egyptian Health
awareness.
A national action plan to tackle the growing problem of health illiteracy will be
conducted by the Health Awareness Unit.
One of the key objectives of the plan is to improve awareness through effective
communication, education and training.
Methodology:
1- Mega program include multi-sectorial connection (focal person from different
department in the Ministry)
-A 25 Medical-related faculties Students will be selected, a regular training will be
conducted (include in-class and online Sessions), then each student will spread the

Health word to a minimum of 25 others.
-Some of these Students will be responsible for engaging secondary stage students
in this program, who will consequently take over the program to the rest of the
school for the preparatory and primary stages.

2- Monthly free youth Newsletter.
-To be distributed in the Ministries, Clubs, Cafes, Markets, Hotels, and Spas.
-A Soft copy will be available on the Website of The Ministry of Health and
Population.
-It will cover different health topics.
-The Newsletter will be used in promoting the ongoing presidential
initiative.
3- Health articles delivered by mail.
-The process will begin with a sign in the MOHP Web-Site, and then a
Health Related Topics will be sent regularly.
-This process will help in data collection to be used in any further
announcement by the Ministry.
4- Monthly Seminars in clubs with the co-operation of The Ministry of youth
and Sports.
5- Sportive Events with national non-governmental institutions like Cairo
Runners and cycle Egypt to support Health Topics.
6- Seminars for Ministries for any ongoing Health event (ex. COVID19).
