(1) 1st place = 2 points
(2) 2-6 place = 1 point
(3) Maximum of 6 points per gender

(1) Scoring isn’t equitable
(a) Some districts send all of their challenged students to one school
Not equitable for schools that don’t have access to these athletes

(1) There will be 2 events
(a) 4 x 100
(i) 8 teams maximum
(ii) None of these students can be members of your track/field
team
(b) Shot Put
(i) 8 Entries maximum
(ii) 4 pound shot

2 Throws are allowed per team/thrower

(c) Unified team entries will be non scoring
(2) Definition of a unified team
(a) 4 X 100
(i) 2 students must be intellectually challenged, 2 students must
be general education students
(ii) General education students cannot be a member of the track
team
(b) Shot put
(i) 2 students must be intellecturall challenged, 2 students must
be general education students
(ii) General education students cannot be a member of the track
team
(3) May 5, 2018 Unified team qualifier
(a) Sweetwater UHSD will host the qualifier meet for CIFSDS meet
(b) Grant money is available for schools
(4) Concerns
(a) Scoring isn’t equitable
(i) Some districts send all of their challenged students to one
school. Not equitable for schools that don’t have these athletes
6) SD Padres
(a) A day of the week must be determined for their proposed
fundraiser event
(b) Teams purchase Padre tickets for $15-17
(i) Tickets would be resold for $20-25
(ii) Padres need to know what date teams would be recognized at
a Padres game
7) Maximum number of competitions is
a) 16
b) Will be 14 competitions, for the 2018-19 school year

10)Meet schedule
(a) CIF entries must be posted using the Hy-Tek backup files
(b) Any league champion scratches should be noted in the email with
the backup file. Do not scratch them from your list
(c) All other forms will be submitted online using Google Forms. This
includes prelim and finals scratches, relay team names, coaches
information and a list of your assistant coaches
(d) Prelim and final schedules, CIFSDS and State automatic qualifier
standards are posted on the CIF website
(e) Qualifying for CIF State. Can be done from the B Heat finals.
(i) Athlete must meet the state Q mark
(2) Section Meet
(a) Vertical events
(i) Wording on who qualifies will be changed.
(b) Jump offs may occur to get the field between 9-12 entries in each
division, but they will not occur to determine who gets into the A
flight
(c) After the Thursday mandatory meeting at MCHS, 3 alternates in
most events will be taken

a) Presentation of proposing to add a division at the state level from 1 division
to 2 or more divisions
b) Contact Michael Adkins for additional information, or for him to meet with
your league coaches for more detailed information
12) Michael Cummings
(a) Discussion on increasing the section championship to 3 divisions
(i) Discussion of 2 separate proposals
(ii) Contact Mike Cummings for additional details on each proposal
(b) The time to run the meet remains the same
(c) Cost factors were discussed
(d) Discussion on a return to a master’s type meet for state qualifiers
if an increase in divisions is desired
(e) Discussion/decision/proposal will be revisited at post season
meeting in June
