Internet and art

How do you think the internet and digital media have affected your perceptions in
context of design and art?
The urge for going on internet to write my own views about a topic is how the internet
and digital media have affected my perceptions. Prior to any design considerations, it
has become a ritual to go online looking for not only an inspiration but an answer.
Knowingly or unknowingly making plagiarism a part of all our works.
The idea of art has been subjective to some extent. The art to some is the expression of
their inner selves while to some it's a form to reach people to spread awareness about
a certain issue. The art has always been varied and so are the mediums of art. From
the people who had to perform humor before the King considering his life is on stake to
the independent stand up comedians on YouTube the medium of art and the reach has
changed considerably. The digital media has made everything available to us to be
seen and consumed on a mere 5 inches display and with the change of the reach the
content of the art has also been affected. So back then when the comics performed for
the Aristocrats, the humor was made such as to ridicule others but now that the
content's reach has changed and the performed humor is no more something that just
an Aristocrat can afford, the content has shifted to criticism of self folly as well.
The internet has given me the epitome of art collection and has left open to me to
choose and appreciate. It has now become my responsibility to be aware of what is out
there and what has already been done or performed which can both be an open
invitation to plagiarism or to the making of a masterpiece.
