Weddell seal
People often talk about how the seal can survive in cold
temperatures how it has adapted to live in Antarctica. Before
Weddell seals found it hard to live in Antarctica but over the years
these seals have adapted to live in cold places.
Weddell seals have adapted in many ways throughout the years.
One of the ways they have adapted throughout the years is the
dense fur and thick blubber they have grown. Also, they have
adapted through the shape of their body because in the water they
stretch out their neck and body to become a more streamlined
shape. This helps them to move underwater with less effort and
much quicker. As well as that, these seals have also adapted
through their eyesight and whiskers. Weddell seals live in
Antarctica and hunt with their eyes but most of the time there is no
light there so the seals are unable to use their eye sight. Whenever
this problem occurs the animal only has one other option: their
whiskers. When there is no light the Weddell seal has to uses its
whiskers to hunt and find their prey.
