Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 8:00pm (some nights & weekends required)
General Summary. We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Handyman to join our team! The ideal
candidate will be trustworthy, detail-oriented, organized and excel at multi-tasking. Must have general
carpentry knowledge/skills, such as: hanging doors, cut holes and hinges on doors, trim, crown molding,
deck and framing skills. Dependability and good manners are a must. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. The
candidate will drive a company vehicle to complete various tasks.
Essential Job Functions
Assists with maintaining the building; immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis
 Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed
 General Carpentry (required)
 Flooring repair and installation
 Performs basic plumbing and electrical work and determines when further attention is required
 Minor electrical work and repairing of electrical switches
 Responsible for landscaping, rubbish removal, painting and overall maintenance of the office
facility
 Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
 Identify and report the need for major repairs
 Routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues when necessary
 Performs other maintenance duties as assigned
 Assist Thrift Handyman at job sites as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 Excellent communication skills
 High school graduate, a certificate in trade school or equivalent work experience
 3-5 years’ work experience (preferred)
 Must have basic understanding of how things work (facility-related)
 Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all employees, contractors and
vendors
 Self-starter and team player
 Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks
 Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure
 Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools
Required Education and Experience
 Must pass a drug and criminal background check
 Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record within last 3 years (No DUI’s in 7yrs.)
 Possess reliable transportation to and from job sites
 Possess appropriate tools to complete each task
 Manage their own work and time efficiently
