A Seminar OR A Workshop 3. Creative Presentation Radio host/ moderator/presenters must present an overview of the Health problem, State the causes of it, and how it impact children’s holistic development before inviting participants/radio audience to pose questions. It is the responsibility of the host/ moderator/presenter to guide the discussion/ Presentation and also pose questions to his/her audience. Presentation should include practical tips for helping children and their families and referral to appropriate service agencies for help. Observe and interact with the child at home, school & during play (indoor/ and outdoor). Use a developmental checklist to guide your observations and interactions. This study should give the reader a comprehensive in-depth “picture” of a specific child. This study should summarize all the information you have collected from the child, his/her parents, teacher(s) or other individuals involved in the child’s life and also from your observations. Acknowledgements SECTION 1 Introduction: This section defines a child study and identifies four reasons for studying children. It should also include a brief explanation of the contents and organization of the study. SECTION 2 Personal Data – Include Child’s Name, Sex, Date of Birth, Age, Birth Order, Nationality, Height, Weight, With whom does the child reside? What are their occupations? State First Name & Age of Sibling(s) and Grade Level. SECTION 3 - Home and Family Background SECTION 4 - Report on o type of family o adequacy of materials for assisting learning o home and community in which the child lives. (b) Use the checklist/Anecdotal Records to gather information about the child’s cognitive development. Report your findings and state how this relates to Piaget’s theory on cognitive development. (c) Allow the child to do a cognitive task e.g. Problem solving, matching, sorting, colouring or creating a figure or an image from materials you gave them. Report on the result. (d) Make at least 2 recommendations to foster the child’s continued development Language Development (a) Define Language Development (b) Use the checklist/ Running Records to gather information about the child’s language development. Report your findings. (c) Engage the child in a conversation from an activity for example Picture reading, free talk about a special event or place, or let the child write about a topic and then you talk to him/her about what has been written. (d) Make at least 2 recommendations to foster the child’s continued development Social and Emotional Development (a) Define Social and Emotional Development (b) Use the checklist/Anecdotal to gather information about the child’s social and emotional development.
