//Good morning po so last week po ang pinagaralan natin is all about hiking and trekking so ngayon
nila is yung pagtulog sa tent or yung mga memories na meron sila during their girlscout or boyscout or
Camping - is a recreational activity in which participants take up temporary residence in the outdoors.
*how did it begin
//so camping has been in for a very long time. even po sa sinaunang panahon napapractice narin talaga
siya even native americans and armies gumagamit po sila ng tents as a shelter every time na
nagmomove sila from one place to another.
na tinaguriang Father of modern recreational camping.
and sa experiences niya as he grow up. in 1880's nag canoe siya and nagcamping sa scotland (travels
wagon train from US to Oregon w/ his parents)
The founder of the modern recreational camping was Thomas Hiram Holding who wrote the first edition
of The Camper's Handbook in 1908
-Holding founded the first camping club in the world "The Association of Cycle Campers" in 1901 (bec. of
his bicycle camping experience.
-1907 the camping clubs that was established in Great Britain and Ireland merge
-1909 Robert Falcon Scott 'The famous Antarctic explorer' became the first president of the Camping
-after worldwar I Robert Baden-Powell founder of the 'Boy Scouts' and 'Girl Guides' became the
president of the Camping Club
-1932 the first camping organization was formed "International Federation of Camping and
Caravanning" (Fédération Internationale de Camping et de Caravanning, FICC)
The organization of campers on a large scale did not develop until after worldwar II
-increased leisure time and the advent of camping with motorized vehicles caused a tremendous growth
Two types of camping:
1. Frontcountry Camping also called as "car camping"- camping on a planned compounds close to a
vehicle. it comes up with all the certain amenities and emergency aid.
//so ito po ay parang much more convenient type of camping kasi nga accessible siya through cars and
ginagawa sya in a estableshed site so usually pagla ganyan ready na yung mga tents na tutulugan niyo or
may mga rooms ng naka prepare for you and may kitchen siya may cr siya so parang ang dadalin mo na
lang talaga is yung sarili mo and yung damit at pagkain mo na lang if ever.
Ex. camping on school ground or local parks
2. Backcountry Camping- total opposite of the Frontcountry Camping, no amenities are available. it
requires physical exertion such as hiking or canoeing to travel to the location.
//so ito naman yung parang much more adventerous and full of thril typel na camp madami kang
kailangan pa talaga maglakad or sumukay ng bangka to reach the location.
Ex. camping on forest or mountain
