Senior Master Sergeant Retired William L. Newman Senior Master Sergeant Retired William L. Newman Is a Mixed Martial Arts Instructor and a licensed trainer. Mr. Newman was an Independent Duty Medical Technician (IDMT) in 728th Air Control Squadron. Responsible for establishing and supervising a medical aid station for unit personnel. He performed diagnostic examinations and treated medical illness, injuries and emergencies within scope of care outlined in Command IDMT Treatment Protocols and emergency dental care such as temporary fillings, administers intravenous fluids and sutures lacerations. Triaged and treated mass casualties, coordinated evacuation to larger medical facilities when required. Performed environmental health inspections of food facilities and water sanitation and was responsible for health safety in austere field conditions. Prescribed medications and gave injections to include narcotics.
