Overview
This Standard Operating Procedure SOP describes the procedure to be followed for proper operation
of Reverse Osmosis plant used at united Engineering & power service Limited & contact
manufacturing sites.

2. Purpose and Scope
This SOP describes the proper operation for Reverse Osmosis plant at united Ashuganj Engineering
limited Plant or manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of well trained Production Department Personnel & Technical service personnel.
5.
Procedure
5.1 .
Start Up Check List
5.1.1.

Check the machine for cleanliness & obtain cleaning clearance.
First of all, check the machine physically.
Check electric connection and mechanical set up.
Check Power supply availability.
Check all motors & Pumps (Submersible pump 1 & 2, Raw Water pumps, Dosing pumps
& High-pressure RO pumps.
5.1.6. Must be confirming the raw water tank level.
5.1.7. Check Sample Line, Valve orientation & dosing lines.
5.1.8. Must be confirming all chemical to be dosing.
5.1.9. Must be concern about last operation pressure of the cartridge filter.
5.1.10. Check all valve connected with RO membrane.
5.1.11. Check & confirm- RO inlet & RO flashing valve open position.

Plant Operation (Production) procedure
5.2.1.
5.2.2.
Keep all pre-filter valve at back wash position & start raw water pump.
After 10 minutes observing the outlet water transparency, if it is clear then turn the sand filter
valve at the flash position.
5.2.3. When again outlet water will be transparent (generally its take 5 minutes) then turn the valve at
operation position.
5.2.4. Repeat previous two steps for oxidization filter.
5.2.5. Start the RO high pressure pump & after 2 min then close RO flashing valve.
5.2.6. Control the permit & concentration flow through the respective valves.
5.2.7. Control EDI concentration & dilute flow through respective valves.
5.2.8. Start RO anti scale & pH booster pumps.
5.2.9. Switch on the power connection of EDI display & EDI.
5.2.10. Confirm all pressure gauge shows normal pressure again.
5.3.
Plant Operation (Shutdown) procedure

To shut down the plant, very first it should be switch off the EDI & EDI display.
After stopping EDI then Switch off all chemical dosing pump.
Open the Flashing Valve.
It should be flash out the water for 2 minutes before shutdown.
Then switch off the RO high pressure pump.
At the end switch off the Raw water feeding pump.

Machine operation can only be done when precautions are available.
Always use Personal protection equipment during machine operation.
Eye must be protected at all times during machine operation.
Must be ware goggles, gloves & Safety shoes during chemical handling.

Must stay in safe position during Electrical operation
For any troubles/disturbances put off the main switch first and protect the materials.

Assurance weekly, monthly and yearly servicing and maintenance in consultation with
