The functions of Occupation Health and Safety;
Carrying out research and surveys on the bases of Occupation Health and Safety; this
organization have been engaged on the physical studies to the workplaces in order to observe the
actual hazardous that can contribute on the endangering of the healthily conditions ( sanitation) of
the workers and the working places, hence some of the research made by the Occupation Health
and Safety are based on the trainings of industrial First Aid and First Aid kit, safe application of
chemicals at workplaces and the risk assessment on the chances for the occurrence of accident at
the workplaces and the effects that chief inspector have the duty on promoting studies and research
for the aim of identifying the hazards in the working environment, as it has been provided by
section 34(3)1, on other hand it has been aiming on developing innovation on the popper ways of
dealing with Occupation Health and safety problems with the result of the research, that has to be
published to the public and being used on promoting Occupational Safety and Health references.
Conducting of the general inspection at the work places; occupation safety and health operates
inspections aiming on collecting data on the ongoing situation of the working places, it gives out
priorities to the employers, staffs and occupational health on qualified nurses with additional
specialist training and the wellbeing of employees through advisements to the whole workers at
the workplaces on the adherence of healthily environment to the employees 2 also on the other
hand members of occupation safety and health management conducting tour to the working places
in order to observe the working conditions and identifying any violations and make sure employer
is compliant with OSHA requirements as it has been evidenced under section 6(1)3 . on the other
hand, during the inspection the inspector may take photos and jot down notes, asking questions
about the organization practices and also may interviewing certain workers. After such inspection
and hazards or violations are to be corrected immediately by the employers and through doing so
proves that OSHA conducts general work places inspection.
Occupation Health and Safety sets standards for workplaces; this are made possible though
listening to the recommendations from their various advisory committees. Sometimes they come

up with employment standards as per section 134 as well as workers compensation5, also at the
other times they come up with standards through responding to requests from other groups and
government agencies6 , also OSHA through setting out standards they ensure focuses on the
requirements of the workers by considering the presence of the important requirements on the
working place in relation to the work being performed at the work place they meet them, also they
revise standards as necessary , since technology and other elements in the workplace do change,
on the other hand they are also asses penalties to workplaces violation, for example in case of
death caused through killed or serious bodily injury, in consequence of the occupier or owner of a
factory will be responsible, as it has been provided under section 81 (1)7, hence this context have
been set across in order for ensuring the presence of standards in the working places.
Investigations on the accidents and occupational diseases in the work place; the occupation
Safety Health Authority owns a role of conducting investigations on issues of accidents and
diseases that occurs in the workplace under the authority given by the inspector through holding
formal investigation or investigating the circumstances of any incident that occur in factory or
workplace and any injuries, illness, death of any person to be occurred in the working place, as it
has been provided under section 7(1) and 81(1)8. Hence under the presence of those investigations
made by OSHA enables the preventions of accidents in the workplaces and diseases that may affect
workers in their workplaces
Registration and keeping a register of a work place; Occupation Safety and Health (OSHA)
ensures the registration of factories and the workplaces by considering the procedures assures such
registration in which there are the requirement on the consideration on the inclusion of the actual
health and environmental care as has been provided under section 179, executive agency requires
a person being an occupier or the owner of the factory or workplace to apply for registration of
such components or premises in order for such factory and the work place to operates as it has
been interpreted under section 16(1), (2)10 in which those registration are to done to the chief

inspector who shall enter such particulars on the basis of every factory and the workplace with
consideration on the purposes of the occupation Safety and Health Act as it has been provided
under section 1511 . under the approve of the registration by the Occupation Safety and Health
hence a factory and the any workplace can perform their activities independent.
