LEAD 342 - Team and Organizational Leadership Team Introduction and Description Assignment Purpose Throughout this term you will be asked to analyze and reflect on a team you are currently involved with. Ideally, this team will be in a professional setting, such as at work or in a community organization; however, if you do not participate in a team of this nature, less formal teams can be used. This assignment will be your opportunity to introduce us to your team. Process Step 1: Identify a team you foresee yourself participating in for the next ten weeks. Please choose the team you participate in with the most structure (i.e. regular meetings, established members, established leadership). Example teams: work group, community service group, officer team in an organization, work department. Step 2: Describe the team; specifically, team membership, how often the team meets, your role in the team, and the objectives and/or goals of the team. Step 3: Rate your team’s performance (0 “Severely Deficient” to 10 “All Stars”) using the five common problems that hinder team success – discussed in the readings and content for this week. Make sure to provide an explanation for your ratings.
