Operating activity
On the first day here, we arrived at St Benets and we familiarized
our selves with the staff, place and friends. We have been introduced
to the course and well welcomed into this place we are going to
spend the next 10 days in. In order to make friends easier and get to
know each other more, our group has gathered in a circle and we
played several games together, like 2 lies and 1 truth.
For our first dinner, we went to a restaurant called Pho, which serves
Vietnamese food. The food was totally new to us and we didn't
accept it.
Following that, we went to our rooms and got our selves settled.
We enjoyed the first day as it wasn't awkward, weird or hard to get
to meet new people and places.

On our second day here we went to our first breakfast and after it
to our exciting class of engineering, in the class we discussed the
different fields of engineering such as mechanical, civil and solar, and
we developed some questions and interests in them differently. After
that we ate our lunch and head out to the city roads for our activity
Scavenger hunt. Looking at the different tasks we were given to take
pictures of, it really made me see the buildings from a new way
which made it even more interesting. When we came back from it we
got into our groups and started planning a structure to hold an egg
when its dropped from the fifth floor of a building. We were given
some newspapers, tape and strings only. We designed a parachute
which later won first place for its firm lowering and spectacular
landing. We also later knew the secret behind that is that everything
depends on each other, the egg and the parachute aren't just
connected by the strings, but they also dependent on the weight and
size and many other factors that shouldn't be ignored.

On our third day we spent time in class learning about how airplanes
were first introduced and how it developed over the years. We were
introduced to the engineering part behind it which was surprisingly
interesting. After eating our lunch we went on a group trip to oxford space
system to get introduced to a certain material that get sent to space to
provide mobility, light weight and functionality and saves space. At the
oxford space system we looked at how they interpreted their designs from
origami styles and how using that has given them better results, they also
showed us how they build it and where, as well as what kind of engineers
they have and how do they all work together in order to solve a given
problem in the best way possible, analyzing the risks and possible mistakes
before release is an important thing we learnt too.

On our fourth day at oxford we experienced the making of harry potter
and all the engineering parts behind it, the buildings and techniques used
in it. It was interesting and good to know as some stuff we had no idea
about and got a chance to look at them closely. After this tour, I don’t
think I would ever harry potter movies the same ever again as I realized
that there’s more than filming and acting behind a good movie. After that
we enjoyed some ice cream with friends at g and d ice cream and
following that we went to the park and looked at the bridge over the river
as well as spent time with friends.

On the fifth day we had class in the morning which in we discussed some
climate issues like pollution and global warming, we looked at them
closely and deeply. After that we went to the Carfax tower to look at
oxford from above. Next up we gathered in teams and did the
marshmallow challenge which is basically building a high building using
only some marshmallows and spaghetti, this challenge taught me
teamwork and collaboration and patience, it also taught me the right way
to think when building a building to make it steady and strong as possible.
Coming next we went to the escape room, the activity affected my way of
thinking to think out side the box and from many perspectives in order to
reach more efficient solutions to a given problem.

On the beautiful morning of our sixth day here we went and explored the
mini car factory, the process a car is made has been revealed to us from
the smallest screw to painting the car. This amazing experience has
opened to me a new different word to explore and go deeper into. Now
every time I see a car I recall how it is made and where is every piece
from and how every piece is carefully putted together and every other
detail. Following that, we had an afternoon class where we further
discussed water and air pollution in detail and how waste is dispensed and
stuff like that. At this night, we have had fun night interactions which
dramatically enhanced my communication skills and took my speaking
skills to the next level.

On Sunday we went and explored the Christ church and many other
historical places near that as we learned and explored oxford history too,
and later at that evening we enjoyed a spooky ghost tour which bought to
us historical places from different angle that made it somehow scarier and

how they're still standing is amazing and the engineering about it is
attractive and interesting.
