INTRODUCTION
Tamarind square is a mall located in the Persiaran Multimedia, Cyberjaya, Sepang. The
main motive of the mall is as a shop, office and retail space. The developer of the Tamarind square
is Tujuan Gemilang SDN.BHD. Tamarind Square was Totally completed at 24 April 2018 where
after that it attracts everyone’s eyes towards it.
Tamarind Square is the dominant mall which is located in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Tamarind
square covers up about 14.5 acre of land in the middle of Cyberjaya. It consists of three level shop
offices that are arranged around in between two gardens. There are 30 semi-d shop-offices which
are 4-5 level each. It is also with intimate gardens on the sides and on the roof. Tamarind Square
is designed to be an appealing gathering place for the Cyberjaya community. Trees has been
planted on all the three levels of the building which includes the roof. There are many mounds and
be entertained by an outdoor concert or movie. Tamarind square also has a covered Centre Court
which provides space for a flea market, exhibitions, performances and events.
Tamarind Square is a well-known building in Cyberjaya, and it has its own standard, not
just that, the safety features of the mall are also up on point. The building is registered under Dosh
and they also follow the legal requirements of it according to ISO 9001. Moreover, Bomba also
has given the approve, for that building which means that the building is a fire free building where
it is safe to be.
Moreover, as per our fire visit towards the builds we had many positive results which show
the building is a fire free building. The findings are more positive where they have a more complete
safety fire prevention plans and mitigations of fire.
ACTIVE AND PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION
Fire protection system is crucial for all the buildings. Fire will come from all possible ways.
A fire protection system, not just protects fire from happening it also alerts us on the causes of fire.
There are two types of fire protection system which is active and passive fire protection system.
Both are equally important in the protection from fire.
Active fire protection system are the elements which are actively available to be used to
prevent fire. Active fire protection system is more towards the reactive types of prevention
systems, where the components will be used to put off the fire during a fire occurrence. There is
manual active fire prevention system which is fire extinguisher, moreover the automatic type of
fire prevention system, which is the sprinkler system dousing flames. The action that leads to the
active fire protection is triggered by alert, signal and alarms. This action will then evolve to help
distinguish fire that has already started. Fire extinguishing systems are the most obvious is active
fire protection system, but fire detection or fire alarm systems are equally as crucial and are also
considered significant active protection system. After a signal for fire, the systems will trigger a
response such as alerting the fire department, activating sprinklers and also closing fire doors or
important doors. All these systems should work together well to have an active and positive active
fire prevention system.
Passive Fire protection is a system of proactive measures. Where the protection is planned
to avoid the causation of fire. Passive fire protection can also be classified as a fire resisting system.
Passive fire protection can also be said as an always working system where the passive systems
are set of components used to compartmentalized a building in order to keep a fire from growing.
This will require less work force. Passive fire protection is mainly the structural and engineering
which was used to build the building. For example, such as by using fire-resistant walls and floors.
Passive fire protection gives people time to escape from a building which has caught fire.
Moreover, dampers which will prevent the evolution or growth of fire or the smoke through a
