THINGS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO:
UNDERSTAND THE TERMINOLOGY OF SPREAD SHEETS
BASICS:
 Insert a new worksheet / delete a worksheet.
 Move the content of a cell / a cell range within a worksheet / a cell range between worksheets.
 Rename a worksheet within a spreadsheet.
 Copy the content of a cell / a cell range within a worksheet / a cell range between worksheets.
 Delete cell contents.
 Edit/modify existing cell content.
 Enter a number / a date / some text in a cell.
 Insert / delete rows and columns.
 Switch between worksheets.
 Select a cell / a range of adjacent cells / a range of non-adjacent cells / the entire worksheet.
 Select a column / a range of adjacent columns / a range of non-adjacent columns.
 Select a row / a range of adjacent rows / a range of non-adjacent rows.
PRINT SETUP:
 Add, edit, and delete text in headers, footers in a worksheet.
 Change worksheet orientation: portrait, landscape.
 Preview a worksheet.
 Print an entire worksheet, a selected chart.
 Adjust page setup to fit worksheet contents on a specified number of pages.
 Show column and row headings
 Turn on/off display of gridlines.
 Insert and delete fields: date, time, file name into headers, footers.
 Show formulas used.
FORMAT CELLS
FORMAT THE TABLE:
 Add border effects to a cell, a cell range: lines, colours.
 Align cell contents: horizontally, vertically.
 Apply different colours to cell content / cell background.
 Apply formatting to cell contents: bold, italic, underline.
 Change cell content appearance: font sizes, font types.
 Formatting cells, rows, columns, sheets
 Modify column widths / row heights.
 Format cells to display numbers to a specific number of decimal places.
 Merge cells and centre a title in a merged cell.
 Sort a cell range by one criterion in ascending/descending or alphabetic/numeric order.
USE DATA TYPES:
 Format cells to display a date style
 Format cells to display a specific currency symbol
 Format cells to display numbers as percentages.

USE & COMBINE FUNCTIONS:
 Counting functions
 Different function types, parameters, output of functions
 Check and correct spreadsheet calculations and text.
 Create formulas using cell references and arithmetic operators (addition, subtraction,
multiplication, division).
 Use the autofill tool to copy, increment data entries.
 Understand and use relative / absolute cell referencing in formulas.
 Use sum, average, minimum, maximum, and count functions.
USE CONDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
 Use the IF function
CHARTS
VISUALIZE DATA:
 Add, remove, edit a chart title.
 Move, resize, delete a chart.
 Select a chart.
 Add data labels to a chart: values/numbers, percentages.
 Change chart area background colour, legend fill colour.
 Change font size and colour of chart title, chart axes, chart legend text.
 Change the column, bar, line, pie slice colours in the chart.
COMPARE AND INTERPRET DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIAGRAMS:
 Change the chart type.
 Create different types of charts from spreadsheet data: column chart, bar chart, line chart, pie
chart.
