100-95










A Strong Project
Your project exceeds expectations.
All directions have been followed.
Shows written comprehension of the book and is written in complete paragraphs.
Writing is done in blue/black ink or typed.
Pictures are colored with pens, pencils, or crayons.
It is obvious that you thought deeply about the book and your answers are insightful.
You use excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and complete sentences.
Work is extremely neat.
Includes title and author’s name outlined in black pen or typed.
Name, date, class, book project number and grading rubric turned in with project.
94-87










A Capable Project
Your project meets expectations.
All directions have been followed.
Shows some comprehension of the book ,but written in incomplete paragraphs.
Writing is done in pencil.
Pictures are colored with pens, pencils, or crayons.
It is obvious that you have read the book.
You have some grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling errors or incomplete sentences.
Work is neat.
Includes title and author’s name.
Name, date, class, book project number are on the project, grading rubric missing.
86--76 A Developing Project
 Your project does not meet expectations.
 Some directions have not been followed.
 Shows little comprehension of the book, some type of written expression shown.
 Writing is done in pencil.
 Pictures are not colored.
 It is difficult to determine if you read the book.
 You have many errors in grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling or incomplete sentences.
 More care needs to be taken with work.
 Missing some of the required parts, book title, author’s name.
 Missing some of items, your name, date, class, and book project number and grading rubric.
75-0 A Limited Project
 Your project is far below expectations.
 Many directions have not been followed.
 Book project show no written comprehension of book.
 Writing is done in pencil.
 Pictures are not colored and are messy
 It is clear that the book was not read.
 There are too many grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling errors or incomplete sentences to be
considered passing for a middle school student.
 Work is messy and hurried.
 The project is missing all the required parts, book title, and author.
 Missing all information, your name, date, class and book project number and grading rubric.
10 – Turned in after due date, Missing Title, Author and no supporting details book was read.
